After lunch, for the rest of the day I just sat with Levi as he did his paperwork. I laid on the bed bored out of my mind, I looked to my side to see Levi staring at the paper before him.

If stares could burn, that paper would have been burnt to ashes ages ago. I got up from the bed and walked over to him.

I leaned on the desk as I read what was on the paper, it didn't look too complicated, just report on a solider.

"What are you doing?" I asked

"Paperwork."

"No like what's the paperwork on?"

"I'm just supposed to read this report and judge wether or not this soldier should be moved up a rank.."

"Oh that doesn't seem too hard?"

"It's not.."

"Then why have you been staring at the paper for ages?"

"Uhm.. zoned out?"

I didn't feel like that was the actual reason but I nodded regardless. I looked at the paper once more and skimmed over it.

"Helped numerous other soldiers..... total of 19 titan kills.... good show of leadership...."

"I think he deserves a raise." I said before turning on my heal and walking back to the bed.

"Hmm, we'll he's a fellow captain now." Levi mumbled as he scribbled something down on a piece of paper messily.

"For a clean freak he has such messy writing." I thought to myself as I sat on the bed.

~~~timeskip of a few months~~~
Rain fell from the sky at a rapid rate hitting my body with a thud as lightning lit up the dark sky.
The sound of my horse panting as it took another step forward and the hooves hitting the floor were very dominant sounds, though being drowned out every time there was another clap on thunder.
"Invasive maneuver three!" Shouted a voice from beside me.
I pulled on the rains signaling for my horse to bare left, of which it did. I weaved between the trees, the rest of the squad being visible for only a second at a time behind the trees.
I heard footsteps to my right, then a foot appear above me, as it lowered on me, I leaped off my horse.
My horse sped up from the weight lifted off it as I hooked onto the titans back, I ascended quickly before barreling downwards at the exposed nape, cutting it off with a quick slice.
I then zipped through the trees, looking for my horse, I located it quickly and jumped down from the trees back onto it.
Quickly I got back in formation and continued weaving through the trees, soon enough I entered a clearing, the rest of the squad emerging from the forest at the same time as I.
We quickly regrouped and continued on our way.
"Titan to the right!" Shouted a voice.
"Petra, you handle it!" Levi shouted
Petra gracefully jumped from her horse speeding towards the titan, I grabbed her horses reins keeping it steady.
I watched as she struck down the titan within a blink of an eye, and landed back on her horse taking over the reins once more.
Once more, we entered a forest gaining shelter from the rain.
"Here!" Shouted Levi as we neared a particularly large set of trees.
We got off our horses tying them down with the other squads horses. I looked above me to see oil lamps lighting up the branches, make-shift wooden hammocks hung from various points and small wooden structures sat on the wider branches.
We started accessing the tree using our odm gear, once we made it all the way up we went to a branch containing enough hammocks for the whole squad.
I landed on the branch, bending slightly putting my hands on my thighs and sighed a sigh of relief. I stood up straight and walked over to where Levi was.
He wasn't facing me so I embraced him from behind resting on the back of his neck.
"A titan came out of nowhere." I mumbled into his neck
I felt him shift uncomfortably when I said this and move my face away from his neck and into his hair instead.
"Did you kill it?" He asked.
"Of course." I said, "I definitely looked so badass doing it too!"
"Sure you did." He said removing my arms from his waist and turning around to face me.
"What's that supposed to mean?!"
"Shh, let's go to sleep." Levi said
I nodded and walked down the branch to where the hammocks were. Everyone else had already taken their gear and boots off setting them down on the branch where their hammocks were hanging from.
I walked towards the 2 free ones, I stood in-front of one and started taking my gear off. Before I had even taken it off all the way I was shoved aside.
"I'll take that!" Shouted hange as she jumped onto the hammock that was supposed to be mine, almost falling off it in the process.
"Hange!" I shouted, "aren't you supposed to be with the rest of your squad on your branch?!"
"Yes but the view over here is way better!" She said.
"Section Commander!" Moblit shouted as he landed on the branch, "your not supposed to be here!"
"Hush Moblit, I shall sleep here tonight!" Hange shouted.
Moblit sighed saying, "there's nothing I can do, she won't budge." Before going back to his branch.
I huffed then looked around, there were only enough hammocks for one squad so with hange taking mine there were no more left, and there's no way I'm going to a different branch with a bunch of people I don't know.
"Ash, you can sleep with me on mine." Levi said as he fully took his gear and boots off setting them down.
I nodded and took my gear off, I watched as he gracefully got onto the hammock. It looked so easy but I had a gut feeling I'd mess it up.
Carefully I climbed on after him, the hammock wobbled a little bit and almost tipped over before Levi grabbed me and yanked me to lay down on him which prevented the hammock flipping.
I got comfortable laying next to Levi with my arm over him using our capes as blankets like people in the scouts usually did.
I listened to the rain pattering on the leaves around us, luckily not hitting us due to the leaves blocking us.
After awhile, I let sleep consume me but not before inching closer to Levi and resting my head in the crook of his neck.
