Chapter 41

I woke up the next morning to Levi still asleep. I sighed as I laid in the warmth of the sheets knowing that I would have to get up in the next few minutes.

I decided rather than staying here I should actually turn up to training on time because unlike Levi, I can actually get punished.

I tried to get up out of the bed, however I got pulled back by Levi. In an attempt to escape his grip without waking him up, I slowly slipped out and placed a pillow where I was laid.

Surprisingly, it worked and he stayed asleep. I sighed in relief before quietly getting dressed. Once I had done so, I walked back to where Levi was. I delicately kissed his forehead and placed a note next to him.

The note read: 'I went to training, I'll be back once it's done so don't worry about me -Ash.'. I put my mask on before pulling the blanket up to cover Levi more and leaving the room.

I made my way downstairs and went to breakfast.

"Where's the Captain?" Asked Eld once I sat down.

"He's in his office, he won't be down until later." I said leaving out the reason why.

The answer seemed to satisfy him enough because he nodded and changed the subject. Once breakfast had finished, we all walked out to the training grounds.

I quickly informed the commander that Levi wouldn't be coming before starting the training. Everyone got put in pairs to practice hand to hand, sadly I got paired with Oluo.

Without any warning, Oluo threw a punch at me. I barely moved out of the way before he grabbed my wrist. I quickly swept his legs out from under him and slipped out of his grip.

I backed up a little as he stood up, keeping my fists in front of me at all times. Once again he ran towards me though I quickly shut him down by grabbing his arm and forcing him to his knees with his arm pinned behind his back.

"Okay, okay you win!" He said.

I let go of his arm and helped him up.

"Tsk, I'll win next time." He said once he was stood up.

"Wanna bet?" I asked. "You caught me by surprise that time and still didn't win."

"Don't start getting snarky." He said, "I could easily take you."

"Alright, let's see then." I said taking a few steps back.

I decided I would try something new so I quickly stepped forward and lifted up my leg so it was at a 90 degree angle and kicked him.

He began falling sideways and grabbed my leg as he did so causing me to fall also.

He had a tight grip on me so I was unable to stop him when he got back up, dragged me towards him by my ankle and threw me.

I skidded across the floor a little bit before landing on my side. I quickly got up but was immediately met with one of my arms being grabbed.

I used all my body weight to try and shove Oluo away but I was unable to. Both my arms were twisted behind my back and a great force was put on them, causing my legs to buckle and me to fall.

I fell onto my front as my head was pushed into the dirt below me by Oluo, both my arms were pinned down, one by Oluos hand and the other by his knee.

I turned my head onto its side and glared back at him through the strands of hair hanging in front of my eyes.

I knew that if I was able to just get one arm free I could get him off me. I tried my best to wiggle an arm free but he just twisted it further making me groan in pain.
