Chapter 29

I flew through the air towards the giant monster, it's massive hand reached out to grab me but I changed direction at the last second barely dodging it.

I flew through the air, flipping backwards over its head, then latching onto a tree and zooming past it.

It's grotesque eyes followed me as I followed the rest of the squad that were on horseback. I saw many regular titans also following behind them below me.

The abnormal once again reached out to grab me, but being unable to. The thing then jumped at me, I narrowly avoided it as it jumped into a tree knocking it to the ground.

I zipped through the air, still following the horses. Actions like these repeated over and over, tiring me out with each one.

"The trap is coming up! Prepare yourselves!" I heard Levi shout.

I looked ahead of me to see the trap, the horses passed through it with ease, now for the difficult part.

The wires began to shoot out from every direction, I twisted and turned through the air trying my best to miss them.

I was almost clear of them before I felt a sharp stinging in my arm like something had stabbed me, the force of it knocked me out of the air.

I managed to break my fall somewhat though ended up tripping when I landed. I laid curled up on the floor exhausted clutching my forearm in pain as I watched the blood ooze out forming a puddle.

"One of the traps must have hit my arm.. it doesn't hurt the titans but it does a lot to humans.." I thought to myself.

I heard footsteps running towards me, "Eld your in charge until I get back!" They shouted. Levi!

He ripped my arm out of my grasp inspecting the damage. "Shit.." he mumbled under his breath, "can you get up?"

"No I'm exhausted.." I muttered breathing rapidly and heavily as the blood continued dripping down my arm at an alarmingly fast rate.

"Alright, we'll your arm has a really deep cut on it, I need to take you to the medical tent." He said as he let go of my arms and stood up.

He put one of his arms under my knees, the other across my back and lifted me up. My head rested against him as I clutched my arm.

He sped walked to the medical tent (which was underneath the hq) and placed me down on one of the beds, I sat up as Levi spoke to someone, who then walked over, took my jacket and shirt off, then started dressing my wound.

I felt kind of awkward sat there shirtless but that's what I get for having a long sleeved shirt, they just get in the way.

When they had finished, they walked away without saying a word. Levi, who was stood at the bedside the whole time, then gave me one of his spare shirts.

I put it on then looked at my jacket, the sleeve was ripped to shreds so there was no using that anymore. I took my mask out from the front pocket of it and slipped it into one of the back pockets of my leggings.

I tossed it away before Levi picked me up like he had earlier. He walked out of the tent and towards the tree trunk of hq.

He began scaling it with care, ensuring that he didn't drop of injure me any more. He went towards our branch and placed me down on my hammock with ease.

"Stay here and rest," he said standing up, "I'll be back in a few hours when the operation is over for today."

"No kiss goodbye?" I muttered.

He sighed in annoyance before kneeling down and kissing me softly on the lips, before getting back up and leaving.

"So much for an argument," I thought to myself, "I guess he can't stay mad at me for long.. either that or I'm too cocky."
