Chapter 38

As I stood behind Petra picking out some vegetables, something caught my eye.

"I'll be right back." I said to Petra.

"Alright, don't go too far or the captain will kill me." Petra said as she picked up a lettuce.

"I'll make sure he won't." I said before walking a few stalls over.

There was an array of trinkets on the table but the one I was interested in was a small gold necklace with a crescent moon.

"How much is this?" I asked the shopkeeper.

"2 silver." They said.

I took 2 silver coins out of my bag and gave them to the shopkeeper. They took the money then placed the necklace into a small velvet bag.

"I hope you'll shop here again soon." They said handing me the bag which I happily took.

I placed them into my basket and walked back to Petra. I helped her pick out some more vegetables then we got the rest of the food.

"Now we need.. shirts." I said looking at the list.

"Does it say their sizes?" Petra asked to which I nodded and showed her the list.

We both walked over to the clothes stall and picked out some shirts.

"Let's get Oluo a pink one." Petra said with a smile.

"Uh, sure?" I said as I picked up a white one for Levi.

We both payed for the shirts and continued to work down the list.

We went down the list getting some wax candles and chemicals for Hange. We then got some bandages, tea and cleaning products.

On the way back to the castle Petra turned to me,

"Wanna see what I got for myself?" She asked me.

"Sure?"

I watched as she pulled out a bag of sweets and showed me.

"Oh cool." I said smiling at her, "wanna see what I got?"

"Yes!"

I pulled out the small velvet bag and showed her the necklace.

"Woah that's so pretty! How much was it?"

"2 silver."

"2? That's decent."

"Yeah I know." I said as we reached the castle.

Once we arrived back, I opened the large heavy door and stepped inside along with Petra. I closed the door after us before walking towards the kitchen.

When walking past the common room, I noticed Levi sat in there by himself.

I quietly placed the basket down on the floor and walked behind where Levi was sat. I quickly wrapped my arms around his shoulders before being pulled forward over him and pinned to the floor in the blink of an eye.

I laid there slightly dazed as Levi realized it was me.

"You scared the shit out of me!" He muttered.

I was laid so his face was upside-down over mine. Without saying a word I pulled down my mask and pushed his head down so our lips would connect.

He pulled away and asked, "did you get everything on the list?" To which I nodded, "good, let's put it all away then."

I sighed before getting up off the floor and following Levi into the kitchen after grabbing my basket.

When we went in I found that Petra had left hers on the counter for us to sort out. I quickly got to work and put all the food away. I then took Hange's chemicals, some candles and bandages up to her lab as Levi sorted the rest out.
