Chapter 48

After getting back from the court case, Levi informed his squad that the scouts had won custody of Eren.

Everyone packed up their things into small bags and got on our horses to head to the new hq. Hange and Moblit would join us later that night.

Once Eren had come out of the courthouse Levi introduced him to each of us.

"This is Petra, Eld, Gunther, Oluo and Ash you already know." He said pointing to each one of us, "they already know you name so get on a horse and let's go."

I watched as they got on their horses and we began our ride to the hq.

On our way there, Oluo began spouting about the hq which I recognized to be the old one that we had lived at briefly when we first joined the scouts.

"An architectural marvel don't you agree? A proper royal residence once upon a time and more recently, our former headquarters." Oluo said to Eren, "Fancy yes but absurdly impractical once the scouts got down to business, much much was too far from river or wall."

I was beginning to get a headache from all the talking he was doing.

"This was the early days for us you understand, held sword high. Now this place is little more but a holding cell, a place where we store our newest toy."

I watched as Eren turned around to be met by a glare from Levi. He immediately turned back around.

As Oluo leaned closer to Eren and began talking again I turned to Levi.

"Levi if you keep scowling at him he's going to be scared the whole time here." I said.

"That's not my problem."

"Be nice." I said hitting him over the back of the head to be met by a glare back, "are we in a mood?"

This was met by nothing else than him looking forward once again. I sighed as I heard Oluo bite his tongue.

"That's what you get for flapping your joules on horseback." Petra said as Oluo held a cloth to his tongue.

"The rookie needed to know his place. First impressions are important."

"You certainly made an impression on him, no question there."

"Indeed so, our exchange went exactly as planned."

"What um.. what happened to you? You never used to talk like this." Petra said, "I mean.. it's really none of my business but if your trying to act like the captain it's kind of embarrassing."

"Levi doesn't talk like that!" I shouted from across the courtyard.

"You and Levi couldn't be less alike if you'd be born separate species." Petra said.

"If you intent to hound me like a wife Petra dear, then theres rather more of me you need to be acquainted with before you lay to the privilege." Oluo said not breaking character once.

"Ha, you wish. I'd tell you to bite your tongue but you've already got that covered, next time I hope you bleed out."

"Oh-ho-hoo me thinks the lady does protest too much."

"You disgusting swine heard!"

I gagged after hearing the whole thing, Petra looked at me then shouted, "Atleast I don't suck dick!"

"Says the ginger bitch that gets no action!" I shouted back flipping her off.

"Oi there are children about!" Eld shouted from the stables.

I rolled my eyes as I put my horse away.

"Look at these weeds." Eld said approaching the entrance, "this place has gone to hell."
