Chapter 7

I woke up early the next morning, the sun was beaming in through the windows and I assumed Levi had already gotten ready since he wasn't in the room.

I quickly got out of bed, put my uniform on and left the room heading towards the kitchen. I grabbed myself a small breakfast and ate it on the way to the courtyard where everyone else was already.

"Ash what took you so long?" Asked Petra as she was saddling up her horse

"Nobody woke me up!" I complained as I strapped on my odm gear.

"Wait nobody? Not even the captain?"

I shook my head, "Asshole just up and left the room without waking me up."

I was still struggling with my straps as the captain ordered us to move out. I assumed he saw me because he came over to me, did up the straps, picked me up, finished saddling up my horse and sat my on it all within the span of a minute.

"How the hell can someone the same fucking height as me pick me up and lift me onto my fucking horse??" I thought to myself as I followed the rest of the squad to the gates, "damn this bitch is either crazy strong or on steroids!"

Like usual, the commander shouted some useless crap that nobody listens to and we all set off speeding through the gate.

After we were clear from the buildings surrounding the gate, everyone started to deploy the long-range scouting formation.

I spotted a titan on our right so I set off a red signal. I watched as red signals were also set off by other squads nearby.

After awhile, a green signal was set off to the right, so we turned our horses and began riding that way.

After a few hours or so of setting off signals and killing the occasional titan that got too close, we neared a small settlement abandoned when wall Maria fell.

"We will stop here for awhile," said the captain, "people will be keeping a look out so if you see a flare go off be careful." We tied our horses up and more or less just stood around for awhile.

Me, Oluo, Petra and Moblit were stood outside the commanders tent, I overheard Hange bugging the commander about capturing a titan, of course her request was denied.

"You need to reconsider cmon!" She shouted as she exited the tent walking after the commander.

"I don't think you ever had a chance, the fact is people have to risk their lives to kill titans so asking them to catch one is just telling them that a titans life is worth more than their own." Said Oluo.

Oluo was then grabbed by the collar of his jacket and held in the air by hange.

"I'm gonna ask you to picture something, are you ready?" Said Hange, "Captain Levi has decided he wants you dead, he's on his way. How do you react? Think you can take him?"

"Of course I can't! He'd kill me. And speaking of killing, your choking me!"

"Want me to tell you how you could win, through intensive observation! You'd need to study everything about him, your only hope is to research every aspect of his behavior. Do this and eventually you'll find a weak spot you can exploit."

"Hange!" Shouted Petra

"Your choking him!" Said Moblit

"Hange put him down-" I said

Hange dropped him and started laughing, "sorry about that, just the way things are though so thanks for listening!" And with that she walked away with Moblit trailing behind her.

"Could have listened better if I wasn't so busy dying.." Oluo said, "absolutely crazy."

After that I just walked away, I saw the captain on his horse so I walked over to talk to him.
