Chapter 44

The ride home was long and tedious. I set off a smoke signal upon seeing a titan. Soon enough a green signal was set off telling us to change direction.

I pulled my horses reins and bared left. The ride home was more or less uneventful after that.

When I saw the gate I sighed in relief knowing that we were back home. As we rode through Trost, as usual many murmurs of disapproval filled the air.

I kept my eyes forward ignoring everyone around me, suddenly everyone stopped.

"Ash." Levi said putting my his hand on my shoulder.

"Hm?" I hummed turning my head to the side to face him.

"I'm going to go further up ahead." He said, "a situation has formed and the path has been blocked by a riot." He said.

"Alright, make sure you don't get hurt." I said.

"Will do." He replied kissing my forehead then leaving.

I watched as he disappeared from view and went to the front. I then turned to Petra.

"Why do you think there's a riot?" I asked.

"Who knows, hopefully it will be cleared up soon so we can go." She replied.

I nodded in agreement as I waited for the horses to begin moving again.

"Oi!" Someone shouted from the side of the road.

I turned my head not expecting it to be anything to do with me, but because I'm nosey and wanted to know what was going on.

"Oi! Yeah you fag with the mask!"

My neutral face turned into a glare, "you what?" I asked.

"You heard me! The fuck was that?!"

"What was what."

"That! Oh don't tell me the Captains one too! He should be with someone like... her!" The woman said gesturing to Petra.

"I think you'll find she's happy where she is!" Oluo shouted putting his hand on Petra's shoulder.

'I knew they were together.' I thought to myself.

"Right, any other woman then. Not.. whatever this is." The woman said gesturing to me.

"Ok that's it." Petra said getting off her horse.

"Batter her!" I shouted as she punched the woman in the nose.

"Oi! What are you doing to my wife?" A man said walking up to Petra and shoving her.

"Some wife she is." I said rolling my eyes.

"What was that?!" The man said pulling me off of my horse.

"Oh you bitch!" I shouted.

I grabbed his shirt and shoved him backwards, the man punched me in the face so obviously I hit him back.
