Chapter 40

(A/N: I know it is very much not Christmas but I wanted to do Levi's birthday and his birthday is on Christmas and yeah.. enjoy)

A month and a half passed quickly, I woke up with my arms wrapped around Levi holding him to my chest. I subconsciously tightened my grip around him to hear him groan.

"Happy birthday.." I mumbled with a yawn.

"Hmm.. merry Christmas."

That's when I remembered that in fact, Levi's birthday is on Christmas. I pulled him further up under the sheets so his face was in front of mine and kissed his cheek. We laid content in each others arms for an hour or two before the door was thrown open.

"Get your asses up!" Shouted Hange as she ripped the blanket from us.

"It's 6 fucking am Hange. Go back to bed." Levi snapped as he grabbed the blanket back.

"But its christmasss" She whined.

"And it's also my birthday. Do as I say."

"Fine Mr moody pants!" Hange said before turning and leaving.

A few more moments went by before someone began running down the hallway, I heard a large thump as they fell right outside the door.

I laughed knowing the person outside was probably Petra, and that she had slipped when she was running to our door like she did every year. I heard her scramble to her feet and knock on the door.

"Come in Petra." Levi said sitting up in bed.

"How'd you know it was me?!" She shouted as she opened the door.

"You slip and fall outside of the door every year."

"I get excited okay?!" She said.

Levi hummed 'mhm' as he laid back down beside me. Petra looked at me and mouthed the word 'fifteen'. I nodded as she closed the door and walked away.

"We should probably go downstairs now.." Levi mumbled after 5 minutes.

"No, lets wait a bit." I said, "there's no rush."

"If we don't go now Hange will come back though."

"No she won't"

I continued trying to convince him to stay but it was no use, I followed him out of the room in our pyjamas trying to convince him not to go downstairs.

"Levi you can't go in there." I said grabbing him by the shoulders once we reached the bottom of the stairs outside the common room.

"Why not." He said.

"Because it's uh... dirty."

"Oh? it was clean last night."

"I- uh.. someone ruined it."

"Then I'll punish them, now let me through."

"Wait- no! Levi!" I shouted as he pushed past me into the room.

I followed him inside and watched as he stood awkwardly looking at the partially decorated room.

"Ash you were supposed to stall him!" Petra shouted at me.

"I tried! The fucker ignored me!" I protested.

"Happy birthday Captain!" Everyone said at once.

In the room were Petra, Oluo, Eld, Gunther, Hange and Erwin. I stood behind Levi awkwardly as he just stood there.

(A/N: dw levi I wouldn't know how to react either)

"I.. uhm... thanks?" He said.

I silently pushed Levi to go sit down on the sofas while I walked over to Petra.
