The police station was bustling with criminals that were being put behind bars, being let out, and trying to escape even. It was half past eight, the moon high up and the sky cloudy. The weathering forecast had announced to expect rain the whole week, making the city rather gloomy.

Zhan had just finished giving his statement and was on his way out the building. Yibo walked by his side, rather quiet as he had been the whole time. Zhan had thought that he was uncomfortable because of the statement and hadn't given it much thought. He had a lot to think about anyways. Especially after last night.

Just then someone placed his hand over his shoulder, making him stop at his steps. "Hey- can we talk?" Zhan looked back to find Shun staring at him in anticipation and nodded away. In the meantime, Yibo slowly walked out of the building to wait outside.

"I just wanted to apologise for last night. I was too... lousy. Shouldn't've said those things about him." Zhan sighed, his gaze looking down. He had been too tired since last night to even mind it anymore. "It's okay. I might've overreacted too."

Shun observed him quietly and tilted his head. "Are you okay? You seem a little... out of it." Zhan swallowed, unsure of what to say. "I just... had a rough night." Shun hummed. "Sure seems like it. It was your first time right?"

Zhan furrowed his brows slightly to hint him to lower his voice, and so the latter did. "It's just.. after watching you get out like that, i asked Li and-"

"You don't have to explain it to me. I know you didn't snoop around asking for it." Shun sighed in relief as he finally straightened his posture up. "You don't seem well either though. You have been spaced out throughout the whole statement."

The latter scratched the back of his head in contemplation and shrugged. "Me and Li broke up last night. More like he couldn't take my behaviour anymore." Zhan became surprised as he held the side of his arm. "What? Why?"

"After you left we... had a fight and he realised just how much of a dick i am. Of course, i don't blame him for leaving me." Zhan made an apologetic face as he came forth. "You don't have to worry too much. Hu Li has always been straightforward since i met him. He might not look it but his judgement is always on point." Shun chuckled. "You're telling me that xiao Xiao?"

Zhan grinned back. "Don't call me that. And i didn't mean it like that. Maybe you just weren't meant for each other."

Shun raised his brows to which Zhan averted his gaze at. "I'm saying that because you don't seem to care much- and in all honesty, Hu Li is too much of a player to care either."

The latter couldn't disagree as he shrugged. "Well, i thought i had fallen for him at first, but now that he left me, i just... feel empty like i had before meeting him. Nothings has changed. Which is.. odd." Zhan shook his head with a smile. "Don't think of it too much. You just haven't met your great match yet. They might be closer to you than you'd think."

Shun scoffed as he slapped him on the back. "Whatever- just go back to your dear friend. It's about to rain and i'm too selfish to give an umbrella." Zhan rolled his eyes as he slowly left as well, and then walked up to Yibo. "Hey... sorry it took so long. Shall we go now?"

Yibo looked away and then turned around. "Then i'll be heading home-" Zhan stopped him. "You are? I mean.. i was thinking we would hang out.. since you're free too now."

The latter seemed unsure as he turned back a several times so Zhan insisted. "Please. I.. don't really want to stay alone today. Something... happened last night and i just need you by my side. If that's okay.."
