It was the next morning, a lovely one in fact until Duyi gave Yibo a call to have him come to his office. So he ended up leaving Zhan alone at home and left. But upon arrival, he was faced with Shun, waiting at the door. "...yeah- i'm going back-"

"Just, hear us out." Yibo sighed, not having an option anyways. So he took a seat by his desk, and listened Duyi as he spoke. "So, we- well, i've come up with a plan."

Yibo raised his brows. "So your detective stuff doesn't work?" Shun tilted his head in an unsure manner. "Not... exactly. You see, if we got Deming to admit to his blackmail- or a simple evidence of him doing so, then we would have the opportunity of filing a complaint about him. And since he is a big name, it would lead to an investigation by the PD. But it will end up being led to court."

Duyi sighed, while the latter continued. "And we don't know if Deming was telling the truth about his threats or just bluffing. Because if he was honest then... we would end up putting Duyi at the risk of a police investigation." Yibo hummed understandingly. "And what does that have to do with me?"

Duyi answered. "You could go and convince Xiao Deming to not take his son. Maybe act more than as a friend to be more... clingy." Yibo scoffed, finding it ridiculous. "Yeah- and he will give up right away. You know, i don't get you. You were so hung up on getting rid of Zhan for me, yet now you act like you give an actual shit about him. Fucking pretentious.."

Shun watched him with raised brows while Duyi talked back in a calm manner. "I must simply do my job as the CEO and keep a valuable asset to my company. Even the oldest person in contract don't make the amount Zhan does, so don't act like there wouldn't be a reason for me to protect him."

Yibo scoffed. "So now you're playing the boss card. You really think that letting Zhan stay in your hands is the best option after letting your dog of a brother attack him? Tch... you piece of sh-"

Just then, Shun sighed to stop him from talking while Yibo stood up. "Okay- that's enough- you know that we are doing this for Zhan." Yibo frowned angrily. "No, this will just make things worse. What if it backfires? This is Xiao Deming we are talking about.. he.."

He thought about the expression Zhan made before turning away. "Just forget it, i'm out. Don't do something reckless either, you're fighting fire with gasoline here."

After that he slammed the door and left, not wanting to hear any more or see Shun's face any longer than he'd have to. He just wanted to be back at home, where Zhan was. Yet when he came back, he was nowhere to be found. So he gave him a call and received a message back, stating that he was on the roof.

He then went there as well, finding him at the edge of the railings. He seemed down for some reason, but it didn't take him long to guess why. "I... are you feeling okay?" Zhan smiled as he turned to look at him. "Just thinking."

Yibo hummed in a quick melody. "Is it about your father or... me?" Zhan's cheeks suddenly tinted red, remembering how he couldn't sleep last night because of the way Yibo had spoken. He knew he was probably teasing him, but it still got to his nerves to the point of making his heart come out. So he softly shook his head to calm himself at the reminder and sighed. "..u-uh... j-just about my life and... stuff.."

Yibo repeated after, jokingly. "Your life and stuff huh..."

"Well... it's just weird how things've worked out. About my father's threats... ugh.. why did he have to come now? I could not have imagined him appearing in my life again. Thought i was forgotten for good."

Yibo looked down, the wind blowing a little too hard so he closed one eye. "You never told me. But is your father really only just a writer?" Zhan chuckled. "Because he seems like a loan shark? Well, for as long as i can remember, he has always been a writer. But apparently, before i was born, he used to own a company which got later sued and taken down due to sex trafficking." Yibo's eyes widened, yet not shocked. "Just what kind of a company would that be?"
