It was a rainy afternoon, yet the streets were filled with people. Still, Cui Yi was able to swiftly make his way from between them, soon arriving at the house of his destination.
He pushed the already open door open, and walked straight into the living room. "Duyi? Are you in here?"
A man who was sitting by his couch with a glass of wine in hand slowly stood up, ready to greet his guest. "Why, you came faster than i thought you would. I'm flattered that you care so much." Cui Yi gasped a breath before throwing himself on the couch. "Oh you are such a cruel man Zhou Duyi! So excuse me if i use your house in comfort- you disrespected my working hours!" Duyi chuckled in return before taking a seat by his side. "I don't mind. So was i a good actor?"
Cui Yi frowned, shaking his head in disbelief. "I haven't been fooled like this since my rookie years as a doctor. I actually thought you were in a horrible state- is that wine?" Duyi smiled, amused. "Would you like some?"
"You will pour me one. And how did you get my number?" Duyi took a sip from his wine before standing up to pour him some as well.
A while after Yibo had be de-hospitalized, he had visited Cui Yi once more to get a check up because of chest pain. But it had just ended up being the stress from the heartbreak caused by the one and only. So, as treatment, Cui Yi had decided to use the line he learned from Shun himself, and asked him out for a coffee- which, had ended up being a date.
But he had been more than able to take his mind off of the heartbreak, and became convinced that Duyi was indeed not a bad man. So they eventually became friends- and have been talking on the phone for a week. This was their second meet-up.
"You can say that i asked around. Should i prepare a salad as well?" Cui Yi shook his head. "It's fine. I'll order some chicken. But i have to say, you have a big house for one person. No wonder you get so stressed. And on top of all that work you showed me on the camera-"
Duyi chuckled as he came back with another glass and took a seat by his side once more. "Now i have you don't i? And i just helped you come out of work." Cui Yi hummed while taking his glass. "I suppose i shouldn't dislike it. Well, let's toast to our new friendship then." The latter rose and clinked his glass to his before taking a long sip.
They liked each other's company, and weren't too far off in their match. Duyi had never been a man of few words, but someone who enjoyed talking until the person in front became naked inside and out.
And as for Cui Yi, he tended to get intrigued by peculiarity. An Duyi just had to be a very unique man. So they weren't as far off from each other, maybe just having met too late.
While both of them continued their chitchat, suddenly Duyi's phone began to ring. "Oh- sorry, i got to take this." And so he walked off to the kitchen and took the call. Yet soon after coming back, he did not have the same face with a smile. "Hey- i know i dragged you out of work, but would you mind if you saw a patient now?"
Cui Yi turned around, worried. "What- did someone get hurt?" Duyi shrugged. "Of.. sorts."
"Then why don't they go to a hospital?" Duyi raised his brows for a moment before sitting on the edge of the couch. "Apparently they're rushing for something. I'm sure it won't take long." Cui Yi thought for a bit before sighing. "Yeah, whatever. Tell them to come over." The latter smiled softly before putting the phone back on his ear.
Soon, the one he had spoken on the phone with had come, already seated and ready to get checked by the one and only doctor. "...it seems you've caught a cold. You just need plenty of rest instead of running around the city. What would Yibo think if he saw you like this?"
