It was a nice sunny day, the bird chirping in happiness despite the polluted air in China ruining their lungs. But they had their friends to be beside them, which was more than enough to make them forget of the horribleness of this world.
Cui Yi wanted to forget also, so as soon as it was his lunch time, he hopped on his car and went to visit Duyi at his work place. Upon arrival, he saw that the company was busier than usual, as it was packed with more workers. As he went up and arrived at Duyi's office, he couldn't believe the amount of people in suits he had seen walk in and out of the room.
With caution and discretion, he peaked from the corner to find him flooded with paperwork. He could even barely raise his head up, despite the loud commotion all around him.
Curiously, he approached one of the suited men who was standing before his office doors, and decided to ask him what this was all about. "Hi excuse me, is there an important event today?" The man looked at him for a moment before smiling. "You must be Cui Yi. Did you come for a visit?"
Cui Yi blinked, curious. "You know me?" The man chuckled. "Duyi was too exact whenever he talked about you. And... your neck has stethoscope marks over there. I only guessed you were a doctor, and not many of you visit us here." Cui Yi's hands unconsciously went up on his neck to rub on the marks he had pointed out and nervously smiled. "You're quite preceptive... may I ask who you are?"
The man grinned, now reaching his hand out. "Zheng Fengge, the vice president." Cui Yi oh'ed, shaking his hand. "You must be quite close with Duyi if he spoke about me... it makes me feel quite shy, really..." Fengge smiled at him, his arms now crossed in question. "He rarely speaks of someone like that, so he must be quite fond of you is all. Nothing to be shy about."
Cui Yi peaked from the side once more and sighed. "I came to bring him lunch but... he seems too busy to even eat." Fengge sighed also, now rubbing the back of his neck. "Well, it's only natural since he's going to be leaving in a couple of days. He didn't want to leave any unfinished work under his name before stepping in to Korea."
Cui Yi paused, his throat clumping up. "R-right... Korea... I wonder when i will see of him again after..." Fengge shrugged before looking around once more. "Well, he won't be coming back again, that's for sure. Maybe go over to him... that would be-...." As he then glanced at Cui Yi, he saw how his clenched fists were shivering while his eyes began to fill with tears. And that is when he realised that he had been too clever for him to see that he knew nothing of this conversation.
"Ah... shit." He looked back at Duyi who was inside the office and swallowed. "Hey maybe-" But before he could continue to speak, Cui Yi had already barged in there and slammed the table with his hands. Duyi looked at him with wide eyes, watching as every tear fell on his papers, smearing them wet. "How could you... no how do you have such a heart? I can't comprehend it at all..."
Duyi swallowed, quick to catch up on what he was talking about. He gave Fengge a quick glare, while the latter raised his hands up whilst shaking his head. "Fuck- wait.."
He then stood up from where he was seated and motioned his head for the rest of his men to leave the office. After they left, it was quiet once more, yet in Cui Yi's heart, it was not.
"Yi... I'm sorry, I didn't want you to find out about it like this I just-" Cui Yi frowned, shaking his head. "You still hid it from me! When were you going to even tell me? The day you leave? Would that have been easier then? So you wouldn't have to think about my break-down?"
Duyi swallowed, shaking his head. "N-no I simply-" Cui Yi shook his head. "Have you cared for me only so little? I thought we were good- no, we were good! Have I been maybe not enough then?" Duyi suddenly became alert. Despite his all knowing eyes, he now seemed hopeless for the first time. It was baffling to the core. "I-is it because we took things too slow- because I didn't sleep with you yet?"
