The city air was more refreshing than it usually was, despite it being polluted to the brim. The martial arts studio he was in was as empty as the savannah, with only one coach to train with.

Zhan had assumed this place to be popular since it was suggested by Shun the day he went to the police station for a statement. He didn't remember for what or who, but the sight in front of him said that this place was definitely not too known to the public.

He could swear he saw a dustball flying in the distance.

Moments later an old man came out, maybe forty-five or fifty. Zhan assumed he was the owner, or maybe a janitor that took care of the place. But upon being flipped in the air by the old man, he wished he hadn't assumed such things about him.

For the rest of the hour, he got flung and hit and whatnot. By the time they had finished, he could feel his hips hurting like a camel had stepped on them. But the pain was definitely less than the after effects of being pounded into all night.

And that's how his first day of self-defence classes went, causing him to walk all the way up the street with sore muscles after. Just as he was about to enter his car, he suddenly got a call by the one and only, and made his way to a cafe nearby.

Only after arriving did he realise how good Shun looked, having sounded nothing like how he seemed. "Hey... you look like shit."

Shun gave him a look before averting his gaze to the side. "You don't look any good either." Zhan groaned as he took a seat, his legs still slightly sore. "Yeah... you tell me. You didn't say the coach was that old! I could've never guessed he'd pull moves like that on me! So i can confidently say that it was my first and last time being there."

Shun scoffed mockingly. "You actually went there? I was half bluffing when i gave you the address. I thought you had accepted it just to make me feel better." Zhan sighed, shaking his head. "Wow.. i'm actually offended- but the jokes aside, why do you look so good today?"

The latter shrugged, later sipping his coffee. "Nothing for you to worry about- did you get my message?" Zhan hummed as he ordered something sweet and cold. "Yeah i did... how did Fang Jia Li even have your number? I didn't think that she'd send a picture of her and her boyfriend at the hospital." Shun seemed a little dazed, his eyes looking down as he played with his spoon. "The picture was actually sent to Jiayi's phone. But he left it at the police station before going away. When i told him to piss of, i didn't think he'd actually leave everything behind like that..."

Zhan looked at him with uncertain eyes, wondering what he meant. "Jiayi? He wasn't arrested?" Shun looked at Zhan's expression before looking away. So Yibo hadn't told him after all. "No. That's what i came to confess today. Despite all he did to you, i still let him go."

After that, both went silent, either waiting for the other to talk more. But at some point Zhan got bored and leaned back. "I'm not so surprised if that's what you wanted to hear."

Shun glanced up. "At least despise me in the slightest-"

"Not a chance." Shun's eyes then narrowed, finding Zhan's thoughts unclear. "Then what the hell are you making that face for?"

"I'm not making a face, it's you who's making a face." Shun furrowed his brows before taking his phone out to look at his reflection. "That... my bad." Zhan chuckled, now shaking his head. "I know that Yan Jiayi has history with you. And your judgement in letting him go doesn't say anything about your duties to me as a friend."
