Yibo was pacing around the room in anger while Mei and Meilin watched him do so. Meanwhile Zhan tried to get up to comfort him, yet as his legs fell weak he gave up and decided to calm him down with his words instead. "...i can't fucking believe this..."
"Please- just calm down it's not that-"
"How am i supposed to calm down? She comes here asking for money so that i pay for something i did in the past, and then comes and poisons your food?" Zhan looked down, unsure of how to respond aside from feeling guilty. "What if she had done worse? What if, she was at your throat, right this moment-"
"Can you please stop this!" Yibo sighed as Zhan yelled, yelling right back a moment later. "You should've told me about it then! This is my problem to solve-"
Zhan scoffed. "Right- but i'm involved too now, aren't i! And you would've responded the very same way to her anyways- so why am i at fault here!?" Yibo began rubbing his face from frustration and breathed out.
"...fine, i'm sorry. It's not your fault. But you should've still told me about it. You don't have to deal with my past mistakes. They are my consequences to face."
Zhan's eyes fell while Yibo walked up to him. "What if the worst had happened to you? How do you think i could've bared that?"
"...i'm.. sorry. I just didn't want you to meet her again- what if she tries something funny and-" Yibo looked at him warmly and held his hand. "You trust me right?"
Zhan swallowed, his reply instant. "Of course i trust you! It's her i don't trust... you had to see her- she had something off about her-" Yibo raised his brows momentarily before letting them fall again, his expression dull yet indicating that he had seen it all. "Yeah- she was quite annoying back then as well. So? After she said all that shit to you... how did you respond?" He hoped Zhan wasn't disappointed.
Zhan looked down, gaze slightly shy. "How... do you think? I said that you were nothing like the monster she had made you out to be. She is just delusional and has a basic mind is all... don't mind her words." Yibo smirked, leaning in closer. "If you say it like that... i won't. But.. if i'm not such a monster as she says.. then how am i?"
The latter's eyes widened, lips smiling in a small scoff from the surprise question. "A-ah... where do i begin?... uhm.. you are..." Mei and Meilin found them cute yet unbearable to watch any longer and slowly left the room so they'd have some alone time.
After they left, Zhan somehow felt more comfortable and sighed. "You're kind and sweet. Very selfish- but just for me, so i can accept that." Yibo chuckled. "...you areee.... a bit crazy- and have anger issues-"
"Hey now... am i really that angry?" Zhan pursed his lips. "...just sometimes. Oh- and when it especially involves me, so i'm okay with it again-"
Yibo sighed loudly, shaking his head. "This isn't good. You are accepting all of my flaws just like that... wouldn't that drive you mad?" Zhan smiled, shaking his head. "...but i already am. And you have accepted me all despite that."
"..and i would every time there was a choice to make." The latter hummed. "I know that...... so stay by my side." Yibo slowly lay'ed him down and kissed his head. "I will. But you should sleep now. Your eye rings are getting darker by the second-"
Zhan groaned while his lover laughed. "..don't say that. Idiot.." Yibo smiled. "Love you too. Now sleep.."
Zhan covered half of his face with the covers and peaked at him like a damsel in ave. "...me too." Yibo paused for a moment as he felt a small smile appear on his face, his heart beating as fast as it had after his first confession. Yet somehow, no matter how many times he'd heard him say that, he felt like he could never get used to those words, feeling flushed and excited all over every single time.
