"Luo Zixin? What... what are you doing here?"
The sight wasn't odd enough to make them get shocked, but was bothersome enough to make Zixin roll his eyes. "I could ask you the same thing- ugh, can you just get off? And stop pointing that knife at me- you could take my eye out."
Zhan sighed in relief as he slowly pulled himself up and sat by the counter. "Why did you even come knocking? Don't you know about Yibo?" Zixin groaned as he stood up. "Don't i- of course i do. I had some business to take care of in the area and saw the lights were on. So i wondered if he got released or something... but it's just you." He said the last words in an unpleased tone, making Zhan a little annoyed. "Why? Would you have wanted it to be someone else? Maybe the culprit who tried to pin it on Yibo?"
Zixin furrowed his brows with crossed arms. "Hah.. so you think it was like that too. At least your brain works for that." Zhan made a bitter smile, ready to spit back. "Mine sure as hell works better than yours if i was able to tackle you in an instant. Do you really work out? Or are those muscles made just for show?" Zixin scoffed before pressing his lips together, but then decided to let it go. "Yeah, whatever you say. And besides... i was caught unguarded."
Zhan shook his head while the latter continued. "And why are you here anyways? How did you get in?"
"With a key of course. Yibo has mine and i have his. So i came to check things. You know... in case i find something that would help but... it was to no avail." Zixin hummed thoughtfully. "I thought as much. The police came in here anyways, so they must've taken everything that would've seemed suspicious." Zhan shrugged. "Yeah but that's the police for you. They always miss something, and i know Yibo better. So i would know if something was out of the ordinary."
Zixin gave him a skeptical look, later scoffing to make it obvious. "What is it now?" The latter replied with a sigh, awaiting for his mocking comment. "You say you know him better, yet you push him around like some toy. Haven't you ever considered his feelings? Haven't you hurt him enough to make things worse again? You might as well just leave it all together."
Zhan was taken aback as he furrowed his brows and clenched his fists. "And who are you to tell me that? Just some third party. You don't know about anything that went between us, so keep your false belief's to yourself." Zixin chuckled. "Oh really? But when you weren't beside him, i was. So i might not know what exactly went down between you two, but i at least know what went down with Yibo. And what do you know exactly? Try asking that to yourself as well." Zhan swallowed, a little lost at his words.
He didn't like how Zixin had been beside him when he wasn't. Especially after all that belittling talk he did to him.
Not wanting to listen to his nonsense any more than he had, he stood up and grabbed his jacket. "Come on get out. I need to go to the station." Zixin blinked. "Oh, to visit Yibo? I'll come too. Maybe i will be of better help than you have, who knows." Zhan felt a vein pop in his head as he walked out with an eye roll.
Later at the station, they made their way to Shun's desk to get permission to meet him, yet the detective didn't seem that pleased with the situation. "What do you mean you can't? I thought it was twenty-four hours, and it has already been twenty-four- heck, twenty-five now!" Shun sighed. "No, i'm saying i wish i could. They took the case from me because Yibo is an acquaintance of mine. They thought my emotions would cloud my judgement."
Zhan groaned while Zixin irked his face. "You don't seem like you're so fond of Yibo anyways, what's the big deal?" Shun hummed. "Tell my boss that- and who are you?" Zhan leaned on the table, shaking off the small talk. "Just tell me who took the case, and wether i can persuade them for their help." Shun sucked in his breath before pointing at the table beside him. But just then, the man in question came and swiftly began by introducing himself. "I'm Yan Jiayi. I believe we have met when i gave you the ice cream."
