It had been two days since his first kiss, and two exact days of thinking about it. Hospitals were too quiet to have any fun, which had given Zhan enough time to sort his mind out.
Yet every time he remembered the way his lips had touched his warm, wet ones, he could not help but get flustered all over again. Even when he was leaving the hospital, his fingers were still pressed over his lips to re-check his memories once more. He just loved remembering. He loved the way a feeling could linger for such a long time over his skin.
But it seemed he wasn't going to be able to think about it any more as a doctor came past him, grabbing the files in his hands while at it. "So you're getting discharged today. Was your stay comfortable enough?" Zhan looked up to see a handsome man in white, curious about the way he was being friendly. "I... did. Do you know me?"
The doctor simply smiled. "I am Yibo's friend... if he has ever mentioned. Cui Yi." Zhan oh'ed, now feeling a bit baffled. "Right.. uhm.. thank you for notifying him of my stay." He was simply gratified due to Yibo finally setting a destination to their future. He wasn't sure if they would've had such a conversation if he weren't there that night at the hospital.
"No need for that. I was just concerned. That is why... i would like for you to think of me as your friend. Someone once told me that it would be useful to have contacts in the hospital." Zhan chuckled. "Oh- that would most certainly not be my reason. But.. since Yibo is your friend.. i guess i could get along with you. So thank you. I would be flattered to be your friend." Cui Yi smiled in return, now shaking his hand.
"So how close are you two?" Cui Yi thought for a bit. "Well.. i'd say we go back to middle school, but since i was always absent due to my studies in academies, we started to meet up only after graduating from high school." Zhan nodded, now looking down. "I see. Then you two must be close enough."
"...you can say so."
"T-then.. has he ever said anything about me?" Cui Yi hummed, lost deep in thought. "I'm not sure what i could tell you since i don't know of your personality just yet. I wouldn't want to anger you with my knowledge in your relationship-" Zhan shook his head with a soft smile. "Then... since you sort of seem to know about.. us, can you tell me if he has ever mentioned something about us? About.. me?"
Cui Yi smirked. "You're a sly man. But you're not getting anything out of this mouth. But.. if i had to say something about what he said, it would be nothing. I asked him of his concerns but he wouldn't budge on not telling me the details. It was getting tiring after a while, so i just let him be."
Zhan sighed, nodding it away. "I see..." So Cui Yi interrupted him once more. "But for as long as i've known Yibo, i learned one thing. And that is, he never keeps his thoughts to himself. At least not forever. He always winds up letting them out to the face of the said person with or without hesitation. He is strong headed if i say so myself."
Zhan smiled to himself, shaking his head. "Oh i know that well.. but thank you anyways. See you around then." Cui Yi waved as he watched him walk away, later turning back to his job as his day required.
Meanwhile, as Zhan walked out of the hospital after two whole days, he breathed in the fresh spring scent. The flowers were almost already in bloom, reminding him of the song him and Yibo had written. But because of how much of a mess things were lately, they had refrained themselves from going to Duyi to talk things out with him. After all, they were nothing but fit to release a song. They couldn't even talk to each other properly, hence the reason why Duyi hadn't bothered them about it to begin with.
