"Are you finally going to tell me why we are at the company?"
He hadn't informed Zixin of what him and Yibo had spoken about, let alone called him for help. Yet the latter had stuck with him anyways, following the path he lead like a moth chasing a light. "Why are you coming with me again? It's not like you want to help me."
Zixin stood silent until they reached the elevators, then lashed out by grabbing Zhan by the arm and slamming him against the wall. "But i want to help my friend. What would become of me if i don't stand by his side on the darkest days?"
Zhan furrowed his brows, feeling a little taken aback as he was certain, that those words had been spoken directly at him. "You see, i don't care about you or wether he has hurt you too. But a two faced asshole who would kneel to every man he sees, has no business putting his nose where it has already been."
"You... you're talking about Han Delun... yet you know of nothing." Zixin scoffed. "It does not matter. I saw what i saw, and i don't trust you."
Zhan was out of things to say, just watching him as he pulled himself back. He did not care about proving himself to Zixin, but the fact that he hadn't been beside Yibo when he needed him was heavy for his heart. And the latter pushing that fact onto him wasn't making things any better. At the least, he wanted him to know that he would be by Yibo's side now and in the future.
But words were not just enough to prove things yet.
"You two are an odd combination." Zhan glanced to the side to see Duyi coming out of the elevator and bowed his head slightly, whilst Zixin just simply sighed to prove his words right. "Are you out of work sir?" Duyi smiled at Zixin, yet his eyes stayed questioning as he discreetly observed their behaviour. "Sadly i am not. I just have to run an errand back at the second office. What about you two?"
He had not stated what they could've not been doing as usual, just asking an open question which had made things more stressful for both. Coming up with an answer didn't seem so easy anymore. "We were just here to help Yi-"
"Ying! Yes uh..."
Zixin glanced back at Zhan with furrowed brows, wondering who the hell Ying was. "Ying? You mean the photographer? He does have a shooting today." Zhan nodded at Duyi's statement and smiled. "Right- so we will be on our way then.." With that, he pulled Zixin inside the elevator and waved at Duyi until he doors closed.
"That lie was so obvious-" Zhan frowned. "So what? You wanted to tell him the truth." Zixin scoffed. "Why can't i? This is Duyi we are talking about."
"Yes, the same Duyi you just referred to as sir. Don't forget that you can't trust anyone." Zixin thought for a bit. "Then does that mean you don't trust me either?"
Zhan crossed his arms. "I know you don't trust me- so why can't i?" Zixin scowled almost, shaking his head in disapproval. "Because i'm not two faced like you."
"Well i don't know you good enough." The latter then sighed, now averting his gaze. He had made a good point, so he decided to let it go just this once and concentrated on the task ahead instead.
Soon, they got off the elevator and made their way into the office section of the building. Zhan was searching for the name 'Wang' while Zixin seemed more than clueless as he walked around. "So you're saying Yibo has an office? And so does everyone in the company." Zhan nodded without caring, his eyes fixed on the name plates. "Yes- you have one too."
