It was heavy. Something was definitely heavy.

So he slowly opened his eyes to check, only to realise that it was just the quilt and nothing else. Just then his phone began to ring, so he picked it up. "Y-yes-"

"You have no idea what i found! Remember how skeptical we were because the locksmith told us that this key probably belongs to a locker in a bank? Well- erase all that suspicion 'cuz i've got some big news." Zhan groaned as he pulled himself up to sit, his body aching everywhere. But he had to be up when he heard this. "Stop beating around the bush and tell me..."

"At least a thank you would have been nice though. I mean- i did visit almost four banks if it weren't for me getting caught by the security guards every time." Zhan sighed. "Good job Zixin. Now, what did you find?"

After a moment of silence the latter spoke. "Well, at first i thought it was ordinary to keep your keys in the locker- but then i realised that they were all replicas. Exactly like how the locksmith showed us."

"You mean... uh.. the two hole thing?" Zixin continued. "Exactly! They all had them! Like- that's shady. What if all of these belonged to other people? Because i did find the exact key Yibo had as well. So.. that's a bit messed up."

Zhan sighed, rubbing his head. "And what else? Was that all?" Zixin sucked in his breath loudly. "You wish it were. Beneath the keys, there were a bunch of documents from our company. And the shit part is- they are all illegal. The fund embezzling our company has done- the- the special recruitment for the idols- the sudden raise in stocks after a huge inflation- i mean, they are all in here. So if these get in the hands of the police, then we are as good as ruined."

Zhan pulled the covers off, feeling stressed. Just then, Duyi walked in with a glass of water and began to worry as he watched Zhan furrow his brows. "Okay- listen. Go and take those documents out- but be sure there is none left."

"Should i burn them or something?" Zhan groaned as he put his feet on the cold ground. "Do whatever- just don't throw them in the trash. Then after, just take a picture of the keys and bring it to the police. That should be good enough."

Zixin agreed to the plan and hung up soon after. Meanwhile, Duyi seemed to have understood the situation, yet showed no sign of shock, meaning that he was not responsible for this. The thing was, despite Yibo's warning, and the evidence pointing at him, he knew for a fact that it was not Duyi. He didn't trust him, but he trusted his gut feeling for sure.

"Did he find something useful?" Zhan hummed. "He... found the illegal documents from the company and a bunch of replicated keys." Duyi made a scornful face, yet waited 'till Zhan was finished with his words. "But no need to worry. I told Zixin to burn them or something.. just leave the keys for evidence."

The latter then sighed in relief. So Zhan glanced at him once more before looking down. "So it wasn't you after all." Duyi shook his head. "I wouldn't be as reckless as to keep evidence of such major documents. I am not planning my downfall just yet Zhan, i am not stupid."

"Yeah, i thought as much. Then... is there anyone that could've had access to such information?" Duyi scoffed. "Is there... the whole board of executives had them. But i don't think any of them would've done it. After all, they all have made big investments on the company back then. So it's not possible... yet also not impossible. Shit.. if they were planning to bring one of us down.. then i wouldn't know."

Zhan shook his head, feeling restless. "Zixin is on his way to bring the needed evidence to the police. So if it's one of them, then we will know about it soon enough." Duyi hummed. "I suppose. Then, you should rest. I'll bring you something to eat later." The latter nodded in return, while Duyi stood up and left the room.
