It was silent in his mind as he stared into the eyes of the criminal before him. Yet this time, he wasn't scared. Instead he felt strong, not overwhelmed.

"...did you come here to fight your fears or something?" Cheng asked, earning a small yet thoughtless shrug form the other. "I... don't know actually. I was just curious i suppose."

Cheng sighed, seeming bored. "Curious of seeing me rot in prison or... curious like, how i changed." Zhan shook his head, now smiling. "No... but curious of how i'd changed."

It was a long silence after that, both lost in thought. Neither seemed too interested in talking, just staring at each other, observing one another's behaviour and face. "I... now understand why you would do such a thing..." Zhan continued. "When i turned you down, you didn't accept the fact i simply had no feelings for you. So it festered as anger, and came out to be ugly... like your heart."

Cheng listened to his words even after he stopped talking. "Correction, i accepted the fact that you didn't love me back. I just... wanted revenge." Zhan could understand why, remembering how he had yelled at Cheng in the car. That was quite the... vengeful act. "Still, don't kid yourself. You never really loved me-"

"And Wang Yibo does?"

Zhan furrowed his brows, hands clenching onto his coat. "Don't mix him int-"

"He will leave you just like he did all his past relationships. He doesn't really care! If you think for a second that he would belong only to you, then you're just as blind as him." Zhan frowned. "Shut up! If you're implying that he would cheat on me- he'd never do such a thing."

Cheng smiled slyly, shaking his head. "...and what about you?"

"What about me-"

"Can he really satisfy you?" Zhan suddenly stood up, his chair screeching loudly. He then looked down at Cheng, eyes angry. "He is the only one who can satisfy me the best. But... ah... you wouldn't know..." Zhan became alarmed as Cheng suddenly slammed the glass with his fist. But was careful not to flinch, as he had no urge to. "I touched you plenty already.."

Zhan rolled his eyes with an uncaring behavior, ready to leave. So two guards held Cheng from both arms. "Really? Because i didn't feel a thing."

With that he walked out, his ears echoing with Cheng's screams, curses and loud stomping following after. Yet he didn't care. He was behind bars now, so there was nothing to stress about. And he wasn't the old Zhan who used to hide behind his fears, he was now better.

"Right... hmph!" Maybe he shouldn't think and walk next time he thought, as he pulled his face off of a black coated man's chest. He then raised his head up to glance at his face, later sighing. "...don't just stand there." Shun shook his head, his eyes wavering on his lips before turning away. "...how was it?"

Zhan shrugged, both now walking towards the exit. "It was... okay i guess. He was pretty aggressive though."

Shun scoffed. "What would you expect from an abuser? The bastard can't even think properly- and also, i've been meaning to say..." Zhan looked at him, waiting for the words to come out. "...about that day, i-"

Zhan sighed. "-you were just doing your duty." Shun's eyes widened, both of them now stopping outside before the doors of the police station. "I can't expect a detective to look after me, when criminal offence is at stake right?" Those words made Shun feel guilty, yet he knew there was nothing he could say to justify himself. "...so you forgive me?" All he needed was forgiveness after all.
