"I believe that love exists..." Cupid laughed merrily, "I mean, just look all around us! It's everywhere, always surrounding us wherever we go."

Love freshens the bones.

Cupid would know that better than anyone.

She is the god of love's daughter after all.

C.A Cupid knew love. Love was everything. Maybe the only thing she had. The only thing she held on to.

She transferred to Ever After High two months ago.

Two months had passed since she exited the world of beautiful, scarred monsters, and entered the gates of the land of fairy tales. The land of happily ever after.

It wasn't her decision, but she didn't have much choice back then.

Ever After High and Monster High were two sides of the same coin. They were both similar, but at the same time, complete opposites.

She had friends, back in Monster High. She was perfectly fine living life the way it was, doing her best and enjoying her days without much stress in her mind. The people in Monster High were fueled by freedom. They did whatever they want, expressed themselves however they felt like. They all accepted each other, every flaw was art.

The halls of Monster High would be packed with every type of monster, each different from each other. Nobody was alienated, because they were all different. And that was what brought them all together, the fact that each of them are different, flawed, and imperfect. Therefore nobody dared to judge.

Ever After High was a culture shock.

Everybody was different still, but it seemed as if they were all the same. As if there were only two types of people in the whole school. Everyone acted according to what was expected of them. All stiff, no freedom of expression, a lot of glamour for students with empty eyes.

What's wrong with these people? was Cupid's initial reaction when stepping foot in the school.

Ever After High was different from what she expected. She expected them to be liberal, free. After all, their parents had completed their own fairy tales. So all their children had to do was enjoy their privilege and do whatever they wanted right?

No.

Turns out, that wasn't the case. It turned out that all of them had to follow their parent's footsteps, and live out their parent's stories as their own. Their Destiny, Headmaster Grimm had said.

What kind of bull crap is that?

Raven Queen was the first person who befriended her. She told Cupid about everything Ever After High had to offer, which doesn't seem like much. Ever After High was officially divided into two groups, the Royals, and the Rebels.

Raven was a rebel. She was the daughter of the Evil Queen. The Evil Queen was a royal, until she was stripped of the title. Snow White, had done so. Therefore, Raven does not belong in the Royal side of Ever After High.

At first, Cupid felt bad, because it was obvious that privilege belonged to the Royals.

They were treated differently. The Royals were viewed as higher, so they were treated as such. The Rebels were looked down upon.

But Raven seemed like she wouldn't have wanted to be a Royal anyway. She looked content to fit in with the Rebels. "You're free in the Rebel side," Raven had said.

The social injustice got on Cupid's nerves more than anything. She figured that she has get used to this sooner or later, because her future lies here. Not in Monster High anymore.

Cupid's dad, Eros, the god of love himself, transferred her to Ever After High. He said that Monster High was a freak show. He told her that she didn't belong with the anomalies of the world.

C.A Cupid was deeply offended. For the first time, she yelled at her father.

She had never even raised her voice at him, she never dared to. Her father was a hypocrite, an abomination in her eyes. The world loved him, because he planted love. That's not true. Eros sells love. He doesn't give it for free. His love is not true love, and had never been. It had always come with a price, whether the people realize it or not.

He pretended to be a saint in front of the people. But C.A Cupid knows how her father truly is. Behind the curtains, he's boastful and ignorant. He uses people to his liking and throws them away carelessly, with the fake promise of love, ingrained in their brains.

He was not the worst father in the world, no. He's not a father. Never once had he treated his daughter with the slightest bit of love and respect. He only uses her, as a tool for whatever his plans may be. And for that, she hated him. She bore hatred in her heart, because the god of love taught it to her. Her own father showed her bitterness, without even realizing.

Who knew, the god of love knows nothing about love.

When she screamed at Eros, he went feral. He yelled back at her, yelled at her like he had never yelled before. Cupid didn't exactly remember what he said, but she remembered something along the lines of,

'You are a fool',

'A waste of space you are', and

'You are my daughter'.

How nice of him.

C.A Cupid forced all of those negative words out of her mind. She can't turn out like her father. She can't. She should be better, and she will be.

And so C.A Cupid promised herself, that she was going to make the most of it.

She promised herself, that she will be the source of love, and that she will seek it.

True love.
