Cupid sat down on the stairs leading up to the entrance of Ever After High.

She looked up, her eyes squinting at the sun. She heard the sound of Bunny chuckling beside her. "Hot day today," she spoke up. Cupid chuckled back, looking away from the blinding light. "Definitely."

Bunny pulled her knees closer to her chest, sighing. "When are they arriving?"

Cupid shrugged, staring down at the small speck of dirt beside her shoes.

"Guys!"

Cupid and Bunny raised their heads at the voice.

Alistair was grinning brightly, his mother, Alice, by his side. He gave them a wave, one that Bunny and Cupid gladly returned. Bunny stood up and ran over to the two of them, Cupid following behind her. Alice smiled, opening her arms wide. Bunny ran into her arms, enveloping her in a big hug. Alistair's lips lifted into a smile, his eyes warm at the sight of his mother and the girl he cared for.

His eyes moved to Cupid, who stood beside him.

He gave her a small nudge, "Hey there pink, help me carry the basket?" Cupid tilted her head, "Too heavy for you?" Alistair gave her a light, playful scoff, "Yes, I'm in dire need of a strong woman to carry this picnic basket, please." Cupid shook her head, a laugh escaping her lips as she bent down to lift the picnic basket on the grass.

They were going on a picnic today.

It was Alice's idea, and they all thought it was a great one. Well, that was until Alice had an important meeting to attend, delaying her arrival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day was blazing hot, not that great for a time outside. But they've already prepared everything, so no turning back.

Alistair was carrying a heavy looking bag on his shoulder. He wiped the sweat off his forehead. "Okay guys, that's enough." Alice laughed and let Bunny out of her arms. She turned to Cupid, bringing her palm to the side of Cupid's head. "Look at you, you've gotten even more beautiful Cupid darling!" she exclaimed. Cupid leaned her head down, containing her laughter. She inhaled and gave her a grin. "Thank you, Alice."

Alice pulled away, clasping her hands together.

"So," she clapped excitedly, "Picnic!"

Alistair snorted, giving Bunny a glance. "Yay mom, picnic," he said unenthusiastically. Bunny hit his shoulder lightly. He gave her an incredulous look. "What?" Alice winced, "Okay, I know it's incredibly hot, but we just need to find the right place! Somewhere under the shade, somewhere cool," she tried to cheer them up. Alistair nodded. "Okay, but first, I need to put your bag inside."

Bunny and Alice walked in front of them, hand in hand.

They chatted together excitedly, catching up on their lives. It almost looked like Bunny was Alice's child, not Alistair. But Alistair only stared at the two of them lovingly. Cupid walked behind the two ladies, the Wonderland boy by her side. She heard him let out a breathy smile, her face turned to face him as they walked.

"Guess who's her real child," his eyes met Cupid's, "Go."

Cupid let out a small laugh. She looked up, pretending to think. "I don't know," she hummed, "But I'm guessing it's not you."

Alistair winced, shaking his head, "Unfortunately beautiful stranger, you're wrong. I'm her son, surprise!" Cupid faked a gasp. "No way, I would never have guessed."

He burst into laughter, shaking his head, turning back to face the front. They fell into a short silence before Alistair spoke up again.

"What a sunny day," he said, "I'm sweating from head to toe,"

Cupid kept her eyes on him.

Did he really not remember?.

"I know right."

Cupid bit her inner lip. She let out a breath.

"Alistair?"

His eyes moved to catch hers. "Yea?"

Laughter threatened to spill from her lips. "You are so hungover right now."

Alistair's eyes widened, turning to Alice in front of him, making sure she didn't hear. He put a finger to his lips, movements frantic. "Don't say that out loud!" he began to whisper, "My mom might think I'm doing weird stuff." Cupid nodded slowly, "So, teenage drinking is 'weird stuff', but, riding on a dragon isn't?" A sly smile appeared on her lips, "Doesn't Alice need to know about this?"

Alistair glared at her. "You wouldn't dare to betray me like that."

Cupid rolled her eyes, containing her amused smile.

"You were so out of it, I swear," her eyes met his again, "Do you really not remember?"

She looked deeply into his eyes, trying to figure it out. Her heart started to beat quicker as Alistair furrowed his eyebrows, putting a hand to his head, trying to recollect the events of last night. He pulled his hand away with a small groan. "I remember everything except for the part after I drank... whatever that thing was. I only remember feeling sluggish and dazed, sitting down on the floor with you," He clucked his tongue, "Yep, that was almost as wild as the dragon ride. Never again, man."

Cupid's shoulders relaxed.

He turned to her, stopping abruptly.

"What, did I do something bad?"

Cupid inhaled sharply.

She forced a smile onto her lips, "Don't worry," she assured him, "You didn't do anything that would get you imprisoned." Alistair narrowed his eyes. Cupid laughed, nudging him with her elbow. "Hey," she laughed, "Don't worry about it, I'm serious." She took a deep breath quietly.

Cupid smiled, "Nothing happened."
