Cupid closed the door of Headmaster Grimm's office.
She looked at her shoes, letting out a heavy sigh.
"Cupid."
Cupid lifted her head, locking eyes with Alistair. He walked over to her. Cupid put a hand on her forehead, chuckling.
"Well, that was nice."
Alistair gave her a pitiful look. Cupid rolled her eyes.
"Don't look at me like that."
He cleared his throat.
"-Did he ask you about Eros?"
Cupid tensed slightly at the mention of Eros. She nodded, "My father and him are quite close. He's always seen my father as this kind and generous person, so I'm sure he's shocked at what he'd seen."
Alistair frowned.
Cupid put a hand to her head, shutting her eyes as she winced in pain. "My head's hurting like crazy due to recent events," she opened her eyes, "And most likely because of the rain yesterday."
Alistair grimaced, "Sorry about that."
Cupid chuckled, giving him a nudge. "Are you kidding? Yesterday night was one of the most memorable experiences in my life. Don't apologize."
He smiled at her. "How are you feeling now?" he asked. Cupid made a face. "Pretty terrible, obviously," she said, taking a second to inhale, "But I'll be fine." Cupid bit her cheek. "I don't know what I'm going to do though."
Alistair put his hands in his pockets, he smiled. "For now, just focus on you, we'll take care of the others later. You're Cupid, the school loves you." Cupid snorted, "Still, I don't want to be the main show of the whole school. Everyone watched that video!" she shook her head, "I mean, they've always seen me and Eros as this perfect father and daughter duo, and now that image of my father and me has been ruined completely. That will change how people see me, and I don't want that."
Alistair tilted his head. "And that's bad because...?"
Cupid smiled back at him, her eyes still red.
"Because I want to be seen as perfect."
Alistair let out a sad chuckle. He pulled his hands out of his pocket, putting them on the sides of Cupid's head. He leaned his head down to reach her eyes. "You are perfect. I can see it clearly, even with my eyes closed." Cupid scowled, pushing his hands away from her face. "That's just you," she said. Alistair laughed and stood straight. Cupid looked up at him.
He shrugged.
"Even if this perfect image of you goes down, who cares-"
"-I do, obviously-"
"-You're an amazing person either way. You're filled with so much love, and you're special," A breathless laugh escaped his throat, "Cupid, I could scavenge through the whole universe, trying to find another just like you, and I wouldn't be able to, because you're the only you."
The fog in Cupid's head cleared up slightly as she stared at him.
"Let me tell you something Cupid," he continued, "Eros is a terrible father, Duchess and Sparrow are terrible people that make people's lives harder, but you're not. You're not them. You're Cupid, and by being you alone," he sighed, "How could anyone not love you?"
Cupid felt herself unable to function for a split second.
She let herself grin at his honey-like words.
"Wow, Alistair," she clapped her hands, "What you just said was... really touching. I needed that."
Alistair laid his palm on Cupid's head. "I know, that's why I said it."
