The rest of the week went just fine.

Cupid and Alistair continued hanging out like usual. Although that was the case, she could feel a slight shift in their friendship, but maybe it was just in her head. Alistair continued mooning over Bunny, and Cupid continued giving him advice and teasing him for it. They were in their own world, as always.

Cupid groaned, kneeling down to touch the clear water of the lake with her fingers.

"How many times do I need to tell you that my wings are real?"

Alistair stood as he looked at her feather wings. "You're adopted, and yet you have 'real' wings, just like Eros?"

"He gifted it to me when I was a kid."

"Eros, gifts." He scoffed.

"Only to make himself look better," Cupid said with a smile. She looked down at her reflection in the lake. Alistair sat down on the grass, leaning on the tree behind them, his legs folded together. He followed Cupid and put his fingers in the water, splashing a bit of water at Cupid's face. She glared at him and sat further away from Alistair.

The sun was hot, shining brightly on the two of them. But the thick leaves on the tree protected them from the light, giving them some shade.

Alistair looked up at the sun, his eyes squinting. He put his hand over his eyes. "What a sunny day," he remarked. Cupid took her hand out of the water and scooted closer to Alistair to get more shade from the tree. She leaned back and sighed, beads of sweat starting to glisten on her skin. Alistair looked at Cupid beside him. He cleared his throat.

Cupid rolled her eyes.

"What do you want?" she asked flatly. Her eyes moved to him.

Alistair gave her a grin. "You know, Bunny's birthday is coming."

Cupid raised an eyebrow. "Really?"

He nodded and scratched the back of his neck.

"Have ideas on what to give her?" he asked.

Cupid made a pondering sound.

"No, actually. You know her better than me, do you really not know what she likes?" she crossed her arms. Alistair gave her a dirty look. "Don't be condescending now."

Cupid laughed.

"Thought you were her best friend."

"I am, no doubt."

Small wisps of wind came, blowing lightly on their faces. Cupid closed her eyes and leaned her head on the tree bark, enjoying the light air. An idea suddenly came to mind. She opened her eyes and sat straight. "How about we throw her a party?"

Alistair was also leaning his head back. He licked his bottom lip. "A party,"

His eyes opened wider. "Hey, we should throw her a party!"

Cupid shoved him with some force, he fell to his side.

"That's what I said, idiot."

Alistair winced and laid on the grass, opening his arms to the side. "Bunny's Surprise Party, I like that," he said. The sun was now covered by the clouds, no longer attacking them with its blinding light. "I am the best at parties, I mean, I threw a great True Heart's Day party just a minute ago." Cupid stood up. She looked down at Alistair and extended her hand. "But now, let's go back."

He put his hands behind his head, sighing with content. "That means going back to class, so, no thank you."

Cupid dropped her hand back to her side. She glared at him.
