 It's been two weeks.

Two weeks since their awkward interaction.

Two weeks since they talked to each other for more than 5 minutes.

Two weeks since they kissed.

And yet, not a word exchanged between the two about it.

Cupid wasn't sure if she was ready, if they were ready. And Cupid wasn't sure if she wanted to anyway. Their kiss felt too sudden yet at the same time so long overdue. So wrong and so right at the same time. It felt like déjà vu.

Cupid had to reassure herself that it was indeed wrong.

Although they weren't officially dating, Alistair's with Bunny, and everybody knew, especially Cupid. She was the god of love, how could she possibly let herself stumble and destroy somebody else's relationship?

But she already did.

Cupid's breath hitched.

She was sitting in class, listening to Jack B. Nimble talk about whatever he usually talked about. Her chin was resting on her palm as she stared into emptiness. Her eyes took a quick glance at a familiar figure, sitting four seats away in front of her.

Alistair.

Her eyebrows creased.

She missed him.

So, so badly.

She looked at the empty seat beside her and let out a small sigh. Life has been empty without Alistair. She's never felt lonelier.

Bunny kept trying to figure out what happened, and what was going on between them, but she soon moved on, too focused on her studies and upcoming tests. Cupid didn't mind. It was better that way.

Better if she didn't know.

But really, it killed her to keep Bunny in the dark, because she would hate her forever.

Still, it has been so lonely.

Sure, she had other friends around her, but they weren't him.

Blondie would eat with her during lunchtime, but she wouldn't stop blabbering about the hottest gossip, she didn't listen to her, unlike he did. She'd find Raven, and they'd walk and talk together to some of their shared classes, but they'd only talk about school stuffs, or what was going on in Ever After High. It just wasn't the same.

Cupid let herself accept the fact that the connection she and Alistair shared was one in a lifetime experience. It was unlike any other she's had with anyone. She felt as if they were tied together inside and out. They get each other more than they get their own selves. And the fact only made her heart hurt even more.

She'd give anything to go back to how they were, before all the feelings made everything messy.

"Ms. Cupid?"

What?

"Yes, you there, Ms. Cupid?"

Cupid lifted her chin, eyes moving to the sound calling her name.

Everyone was looking at her.

Professor Nimble shook his head at her. "Zoning out in class, Ms. Cupid? I have to say, I'm quite disappointed."

Cupid fixed her posture and cleared her throat, "Sorry, Professor," she simply said. She could feel Alistair's stare on her. She didn't meet his eyes. She wouldn't be able to handle it. "Would you be so kind and tell me what I was explaining just now?" he asked.

Cupid's shoulders drooped, "Sorry I can't."

Jack B. Nimble scrunched his eyebrows in concern. He opened his mouth, then closed it again, shaking his head in dismissal. "Anyways, Ms. Cupid, we were just talking about our ancestry, and how truly powerful our family line is. What your ancestors did generations and generations ago, affect how you are now. The life you have, the life that you live now, has had contributions from your ancestors," he grinned, his eyes moving to the other students, "Now, isn't that just wonderful? How you have parts of the past in the present, and both the past and the present, in the coming future. You are a product of everyone who came before you."
