The crowd clapped as Cupid walked away from the podium.

She caught a glimpse of Headmaster Grimm, who looked frustrated. Cupid bit her cheek, walking down the stage, avoiding eye contact with the man. She looked down, putting a hand over her heart. Cupid let out a relieved sigh. She's done it. A small smile graced her face.

Everything's going to be okay.

She spoke of what was in her heart, and that felt so good, a burden lifted off her.

A soft chuckle escaped her.

"What's so funny, my dear Cupid?"

Her body completely tensed.

Cupid slowly looked up.

Eros was in front of her, his arms crossed in front of him. He didn't look angry. He had a smile on his face. Cupid gulped. His malicious gaze made her shiver. "Father-"

"Walk with me for a bit," he said, his smile still on his face.

She gave him a slow nod.

He started walking in front of Cupid, greeting the labyrinth of people with a beautifully-practiced warmth as they passed. Cupid simply followed behind him, playing with her hands, head held down. Her heart slowed after she stepped down from the stage, but now, it was beating faster than when she was at the podium. People congratulated her as she walked by, but she didn't stop. Cupid felt a sharp pair of eyes set on her. She turned her head, locking eyes with Alistair. She walked past him. His face was filled with concern.

They walked past the fair completely, and Eros suddenly stopped.

Cupid looked around, realizing that they were now in a desolate area, behind the garden of Ever After High. Eros turned his body to face her. He took a step forwards, Cupid instinctively took a step back. He let out a mocking laugh. Cupid felt her breathing quickened.

"I thought you wanted to make me proud?"

Cupid blinked. She gulped and nodded. "I did, father."

He tilted his head.

"Then what happened to that?"

Cupid inhaled a sharp breath. "I couldn't father," she braved herself to raise her head, eyes staring into her father's, "No matter what I do, you would never be proud of me," she said softly, her voice almost a whisper. Eros held her gaze, raising his eyebrows tauntingly. "Really?"

"All my life, all I wanted to do was to be the Cupid that you wanted. But no matter how hard I tried, you were never satisfied, not even in the slightest. I can't live like that, not anymore."

Eros scoffed. "Be the Cupid that I wanted? Oh don't joke around. You've always wanted to be Cupid, not because of me."

Cupid stared into his eyes. "That's true father, I've always wanted to be Cupid. But not the one that you expect from me," she let out a quiet sigh, "I don't want to be like you."

Eros no longer had a smile on his face, his fatherly behavior vanished in a matter of seconds as he revealed his true form.

"Father, you claim to be love in a living form," she looked at him, determined. Cupid shook her head, "But I don't think you even know what love is."

A moment of silence passed.

The words rolled out of her lips, coming straight from the heart. She meant what she said, truly. A part of her was almost sad. Because she knew, that though Eros preached love left and right wherever he goes, she knew, that he was nothing more than a fraud.
