Alistair paid attention.
More than he usually did.
He watched, observed, as C.A Cupid would walk down the halls. The students seemed to put in mind of what she said before, only a few of them giving her looks. He noted the ones that still looked at her weirdly. He watched as she tried her best to keep her chin lifted, her posture straight.
But he could see through the cracks.
The way she wavered when she put on her act. He watched intently, as she sat next to him in the library, unfocused and zoning out, not letting out endless words and sentences from her mouth like she usually would. He would lay a light touch on her shoulder, only for her to jump in surprise. He'd keep his touch there, and ask her if everything was okay. She would always answer yes, usually with a defensive tone, brushing it off completely.
C.A Cupid didn't seem like herself anymore, he concluded.
In these days of trial, Alistair's eyes would be on Cupid, trying to uncover her inside and out, a deep dive into the deepest core of her soul.

It was just another day.
Cupid looked at the calendar on her desk.
2 weeks.
It's been two weeks since she came back.
Cupid tore her eyes away from the Calendar, standing up from her chair. She could hear Blondie shuffling in the bathroom, a sign that she was about to step out. Cupid pulled her bookbag on her shoulder and walked to the door right away. She didn't feel like talking with Blondie about one of her MirrorCast episodes this morning.
Peace and quiet was all that she needed today.
It was all she needed ever since she came back.
Cupid closed the door behind her as she heard Blondie step out of the bathroom. She looked down at the watch on her left wrist, the one Psyche gave her in the mail just a few days ago.
"You're up early."
Cupid's eyes widened. She spun herself around, a surprised expression on her face. She let her arm fall. "Hey stalker," Cupid greeted.
Alistair was standing behind her, leaning on the wall, his arms crossed. He breathed out a small laugh. Cupid rolled her eyes, stepping closer to him. "What are you doing in front of my room?" she looked down at her wrist again, "At 6:50 a.m." Alistair leaned away from the wall, walking to her. His eyes followed hers to her watch. He raised his eyebrows, "New watch?" He took her wrist in his hands without warning, taking a good look at her new accessory.
Cupid watched him as he observed the device laid on her wrist.
Alistair's jaw dropped. "This is the newest one," his eyes flickered to her's, "Expensive as hell."
Cupid let out a laugh, pulling her wrist from his hands. "I didn't know, Psyche sent it to me." She shrugged, "I guess it's cute, or whatever." Alistair threw her a smile. He put his two hands on each of her shoulder, making her lean back, a weird look plastered on her face at the randomness of the boy.
"We have to get breakfast now," he turned her body around, "Let's go!"
He pushed her body forwards. Cupid groaned. "I can't deal with you this early, I swear." Alistair pulled his hands away from her shoulder, going to her right wrist. He clasped his fingers around her wrist, pulling her along.
"Come on, Cupid! Cheer up!"

They finished their breakfast together.
