Cupid's eyes widened.
"What?"
"Why are you this surprised?" he laughed.
Cupid glared at him. "What would Bunny think about this?"
Alistair made a baffled sound. "I've danced with her the whole night!" he pulled his hand back to his side. "But, I haven't danced with you, and you're clearly the loneliest girl here."
"A pity offer, really?"
He shook his head.
"A friend offer," he replied.
Cupid stayed still for a few seconds. Then, she rolled her eyes and reached out for Alistair's hand. "Fine, just once."
"See, I know you'd melt-"
"Shut up, I just wanted to dance to this song."
Alistair shut his lips, a teasing look on his face.
The song became louder slowly, escaping through the gaps under the door, dividing the two of them and the rest of the crowd partying inside.
Alistair turned Cupid around.
At first, things were stiff, but they quickly found themselves following the flow of the song, and dancing spontaneously. A smile began to appear on Cupid's face. Alistair noticed, and his smile widened. He spun her around again, eliciting a laugh from her. Cupid then had her palms resting on his shoulders, and his hands on her waist, the both of them simply moving in a random pace, can't help but to giggle at each other's expressions. They laughed non-stop as they danced to the beat of their hearts, lost in the song.
And then they were jumping, along to the soft beat of the song, completely out of tune, just messy. But they were in their own world, almost dancing to their own music. Cupid lifted her hands in the air, spinning herself around, Alistair eventually stopping her by the hips, pulling her close. She felt dizzy, her head in circles as she let her body slightly fall into his warmth.
The two friends kept dancing and moving along to the beat of the song, and sometimes just to their own humming, completely entranced by the euphoric feeling they both shared.
Their own heartbeats beating loud in their ears.
The song ended, and their dances ended with it.
As the song ended, Alistair lengthened his hand, pushing Cupid away and pulling her back to him with a spin. Cupid's eyes watered as she laughed, her head tilting back. She was chest to chest with Alistair, she leaned her head on his shoulder and wiped the tears away from her eyes. Alistair wrapped his arms around Cupid's back, chuckling.
"That-" she laughed freely. "That was the silliest thing we've ever done together!"
Alistair rested his chin on Cupid's shoulder. "One might think you're dying from laughter at the moment." Cupid sucked in a deep breath and forced herself to stop laughing. "I really am, though!"
Cupid looked at the night sky. She put her palm on Alistair's shoulder, her arm circling his, resting her chin on it.
With her gaze lifted and her eyes sparkly, she whispered, "A full moon."
Alistair smiled against Cupid's shoulder as her whisper reverberated through his eardrums.
Cupid closed her eyes, still in Alistair's arms. He finally let go of her. They stared at each other, wide smiles on their faces. Their bodies were closer than ever before. Cupid looked into Alistair's eyes as he had his hands on her waist, hers on his elbows.
Alistair suddenly broke apart from her, and rummaged into the coat of his pocket. Cupid watched in curiosity, "What are you doing?" she asked. Alistair pulled out something from his pocket. Cupid's eyes inspected it as they widened slightly.
