Alistair sat on his bed that same night, dark bags under his eyes. Sleep wouldn't come to him. He's spent the day locked up in his room, unwilling to come out. He admits, that he is scared, of what's going to happen. Hopelessness swallowed him whole. All he can do was sit, left alone with his thoughts that keep trying to eat him alive.
Alistair looked down at the photograph he was clutching in his left hand.
"Mom," he whispered, observing the features of his late mother, "I miss you," he sighed. "I wish you were here."
His mom didn't answer.
She simply stayed still, trapped in time, stuck in a photograph. She looked so lively in the photo, as she usually was.
Alistair looked up at his window, overlooking the forests of Ever After High.
It was a full moon.
He needed some air.

Alistair walked to the rooftop in no rush, hands in his pockets. He hadn't been here in a while.
Alistair slowly opened the door, he shivered as the cold air hit his skin, blowing his hair back softly. He took a step and closed the door behind him, letting out a cold breath into the air.
He wasn't even surprised when a familiar figure caught his eyes.
The most beautiful girl, sitting on the railings, all alone.
The wind blew in her hair, her dress short. She's got two hands keeping herself on the railing, steady and cold. She turned her head to the left, eyes soft, and nose red.
Tucking a strand of hair behind her hair, she smiled.
"Alistair," she called out, her voice melodic and haunting.
She knew.
She knew it was him, didn't even have to look back to confirm. Alistair cursed himself in his heart. They knew each other too well. They took it too far, no surprise.
Alistair stood still in the same position, the chill air hitting his neck, hands still in his pockets.
"...Cupid," he said after a while, he felt out of breath as he stared at her figure.
Her smile widened, and she turned her head upwards to the night sky.
Alistair made his way closer to her, taking small steps reaching her position, hands in his pockets.
"You're not going to jump, are you?" he asked, his words rolling out into the wind.
Cupid chuckled, eyes still fixed on the sky.
"No, not tonight, Loverboy," she replied, eyes starry, "It's a full moon tonight," her voice a whisper.
Alistair's eyes moved up, staring at the same moon, along with the many stars surrounding it. The same moon that accompanied their journey and their adventures ever since the beginning of their unfortunate meeting.
Alistair Wonderland and C.A Cupid.
What an unfortunate event, they were.
His eyes softened.
"It is."
Cupid finally tore her eyes away from the moon, looking down at her dangling feet, only a fall away from her doom.
Alistair took a step and leaned his back on the railing, arms brushing with Cupid's.
Cupid turned her head, meeting his eyes. The two didn't seem to know what to say. Their eyes were simply fixed on each other, conveying thoughts and feelings only the two might be able to understand.
