Cupid was on MirrorCast.
She was hosting a podcast, where people can share their experiences and ask for love advice.
Cupid loved doing this, as it made her feel good to help people, especially concerning the matters of love.
"Now my friends, this is the part of the MirrorCast where I try to solve your romantic problems," she smiled to the camera. She looked at the screen in front of her, it was blurry. "What's in your heart?" she asked the person.
"Um, well I-"
Cupid's eyes widened.
"Dex-"
"I kind of- no, I do, I do have a crush on this girl named Raven," Dexter Charming chuckled to himself. He was crouching down, holding his tablet in front of his face, talking to it. Cupid's smile vanished. "Raven Queen?" she asked. "You have a crush on Raven Queen?" Of course, this was no surprise, but she was not looking forward to hear that truth come out of Dexter's mouth himself.
The whole school who watched gasped.
Raven Queen was still feared and known for her rebellious tendencies. She refused to sign the Book of Legends, and it changed everything. Some people were horrified, but some were happy for her. At first, Cupid was one of the horrified people. She's always told people to follow their hearts, but if that is what Raven's heart wants, how would it affect everything? And will things change for the better or for the words.
Cupid heard what Headmaster Grimm said, she wouldn't have risked something as big as that. But soon, she found herself in awe, of what Raven had done. She followed her true heart, and everything turned out fine.
But Cupid found herself wondering, what would've happened if things turned out bad, just as Headmaster Grimm said.
A true heart can be a curse, sometimes.
Cupid shook her head, clearing her thoughts.
At the gasps, Dexter quickly stuttered and retracted his words. "Uh- I mean Rachel!" he put his hand behind his neck. "Yeah, I like a girl named Rachel!" Cupid's shoulders sank down. She played along. "Okay, Rachel."
"So, you like her," Cupid folded her arms. "What's the problem?" she asked.
"Whenever I'm around her, I get really, uh- tongue tied."
Cupid let out a sigh through her nose. She forced a chuckle. "Okay," she looked at the pages on her table. Her eyes found a drawing that she drew of Dexter in the library. She smiled, giving her all for love. She lifted the paper and stared at it.
"Look, how about putting down your feelings, on parchment?" she offered.
Dexter leapt with joy. "That is a great idea!" he grinned. "I'll write her a love po-" Dexter quickly stopped himself after he felt eyes turning in his direction. He gave an awkward laugh and cleared his throat. "Thanks Cupid you're the best, bye.", he said quickly.
The call ended.
Cupid laid her head on her perched arm. She stared down.
"No problem."
She bit her inner lip, and forced a smile on her face.
It's fine.
You're Cupid.
Another call.
Cupid accepted. "Hello there, what's on your-"
A black screen greeted her. She tilted her head. "Hello? Anybody-"
"Hi there, Cupid."
Cupid stayed silent. Her eyes widened. The voice cleared its throat. "I need some advice, if you're willing to give some?" Cupid had to stop herself from letting out a laugh. She let out a cough. "Yes," she looked at the black screen. "Go on."
The voice chuckled. "Well, I have this friend, and she's one of my favourite people ever."
Cupid almost rolled her eyes.
Bunny.
She felt her lips pulling up in a smile. "Okay, mister anonymous, I'm guessing you've been friends for years with this friend of yours, and want to be more than friends, but you don't know how?"
"Woah, how did you know?"
Cupid chuckled, "I don't know, I guess I had a feeling."
"That's impressive," the voice said. "I do have that situation, but my friend has given me plenty of advice for that. I came here for another situation."
Cupid's smile turned into a confused frown. Her eyebrows raised. "Oh- really?"
"Yeah, I have this other friend, that is annoying most of the time,"
Cupid burst into laughter. She quickly stopped herself. "If you can tell me, who is she?" Cupid asked playfully. The voice made a sound. "Sorry, I can't. She'll hit me if I do."
She was grinning. "Okay, tell me what the problem is."
"So, she's been kinda down lately. She keeps putting others before herself, and I don't like that," Cupid listened intently. "She constantly prioritizes others, but never her own self. She's incredibly selfless, and I know she's went through some hard times in her life." Her heart warmed up at the words.
"Oh, really?"
"Yep. She's super annoying, just so you know," Cupid scrunched her eyebrows. "But, she is an amazing person and I love having her in my life. Any advice on how to cheer her up when she's down?"
Cupid can't think of words to say.
This is incredibly stupid, she thought, as she felt her sadness melt away.
She smiled to herself. "She must be so great, are you sure you're not in love with her?" she teased. Alistair hummed. "No, not as far as I'm aware."
She laughed. "Okay, okay," she thought. "Hm, I think I would remind her that she has people who love her in her life, and that she should think about herself more," she leaned her face on her palm. "I'm going to be honest, I don't have much solutions in mind," Cupid said as she looked down, thinking.
"But whoever she is, I'm sure she's grateful to have someone like you by her side."
"Well, I'm sure of that," Alistair spoke. "Because I'm amazing like that."
The call ended.
Cupid's lips were stuck in a smile.

short and sweet.
