After their interaction at the rooftop, Cupid thought that Alistair would be more wary and careful after seeing a more vulnerable side of her, but fortunately, he wasn't. He was still the same Alistair Wonderland, her rebellious, snarky friend. Cupid felt grateful for that.

Cupid sat in the library, a feeling of dread in her heart.

Bunny and Alistair were sitting beside her as well. Bunny was doing her homework, and Alistair, well, he was trying to. He sighed and played with his pencil. In the corner of his eyes, he noticed Cupid only staring at her paper. Alistair nudged her with his elbow, breaking her out of her trance. Cupid scowled and glared at him. "What?" she asked, an annoyed tone in her voice.

Alistair raised an eyebrow. "What are you thinking about?"

Cupid leaned back on her chair, sighing.

"Parent's day," she whispered, "It's tomorrow."

Bunny's ears perked up at the mention of Parent's Day. She stopped writing down her answers and looked at Cupid. "I totally forgot about that," Bunny said. Cupid leaned forward and leaned her head on the table. "My father's visiting. Not looking forward to that."

Alistair scoffed. "Obviously."

Bunny's eyebrows scrunched with concern. "Well, don't worry Cupid, everything will be okay, I'm sure," she said encouragingly. The evil step-sisters shushed her immediately. Bunny rolled her eyes. Cupid shrugged lazily. "Having to talk in front of the whole Ever After doesn't help either."

Alistair sat straighter in his seat, leaning closer to Cupid. "Talk in front of the whole Ever After? What do you mean by that?" he asked, surprised. Bunny chuckled and poked his shoulder. "Don't you know? Almost everybody voted Cupid as the best student this year. That makes sense, considering she threw the best True Heart's Day party ever," Bunny murmured the last sentence, a glint in her eyes. Alistair's face lit up with understanding, his lips forming a teasing smile. He turned to Cupid, "So...big speech huh? Must be hard to be loved by every student in Ever After High."

Cupid hid her face in her arms and groaned.

Bunny frowned. "Shut up Alistair, you're not making her feel better." Alistair raised his hands up innocently. "Sorry."

Cupid lifted her head, a worried look on her face.

"The last time I talked to my father, he was angry with me. But I guess he's always angry at me," she shook her head, "Whatever, I'm just hoping I'll survive his wrath tomorrow." Alistair gave her an encouraging smile, giving her a pat on the back. "So what? You'll play the role of the perfect daughter tomorrow?" he teased. Cupid snorted and laughed. "I guess so."

That night, Cupid sat on her desk, hands in her hair, frustrated.

She's been trying to write her speech for a while now. Cupid turned to look behind her, Blondie was already asleep, snoring away. She sighed and picked up her pen. She'd be talking in front of her father. What would he want her to say?

It's an honor to be here today, I feel so honored to be standing here right now, voted as the best student in front of all my lovely friends. I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for my father, Eros, the god of love himself. He taught me to be who I am today, and shaped me to be the Cupid that all of you know-

A laugh slipped out from her lips.

That's ridiculous.

But her father would love that.

She rolled her eyes.

Follow your heart, he would say to his blinded supporters.

Fine, I'll follow what my heart says.
