"A'Xian," a familiar heartwarming and comforting female voice said to him, "A'Xian?"
Wei Wuxian turned his head so his right ear was pressed against his husband's chest as he looked at the woman to called his name. It was Jiang Yanli. She died back in Nightless City. She sacrificed her life for Wei Wuxian, and he had never forgotten that, or forgiven himself for letting her do that. Between the familiar warmth of her voice and the familiar comforting embrace of his husband's arms, he felt a bit more at ease, but his heart was still wounded.
"Shijie," Wei Wuxian whispered, "I'm so sorry."
"Please don't apologize to me, A'Xian. I took that sword for you. It is nothing to feel guilty over. I am sorry that I left you when I did though. Hearing that you still died afterwards, it still hurts me more then me actually dying. You deserve so much better," Yanli told him taking his hand, "we all want you to feel better with time. So please don't rush things, but please don't do or say something you will regret, okay."
Wei Wuxian nodded. He closed his eyes as a sob came out of him. He turned his head and shoved his face back into his husband's chest. Wangji held him tighter, trying not to take his air away, but he held him so he knows he is okay. He can cry as much as he wanted in Wangji's arms. He wasn't going anyway.
"A'Ying?" Another woman's voice asked out.
Wuxian's sobs came to a halt. That familiar voice, he hasn't heard it since he was a small child. How much he missed that voice too. He sat up in Wangji's lap and turned to the woman.
"A-Niang?" Wei Wuxian asked, "is that really you?"
"It is," she said sitting in front of him, "it is really me...I'm so sorry your father and I left you when we did. And I'm so sorry that you suffered so much all these years."
"A-Niang!" Wei Wuxian said lunging himself into her arms.
He missed her hugs, her voice, her sweet smell of peach blossoms, and her tenderness. He missed her very much. His father sat on the other side of him beside Cangse. He pulled them both into a hug, holding them both.
"A-Die!" He cried.
"I'm here now, Son," Wei Changze said comforting him.
He then looked at the man Wei Wuxian was holding not long ago, but also defended him against Lan Qiren. He remembers him saying Wei Wuxian was his Husband.
"A'Ying?" Wei Changze asked having him sit up, "care to introduce us?" He then directed his head to Lan Wangji.
"Oh," Wuxian said wiping the tears from his face, "this is my husband and cultivation partner, Lan Zhan, courtesy name Wangji. He also goes by Hanguang Jun and is the current Chief Cultivator."
"Lan Wangji," Wei Changze greeted, "I am thankful for you being with my son, especially when he needs someone."
"I love him, and will always be there for him," Wangji told him, "though recently, I have been imbalanced with my work as I haven't been the best partner. I haven't been around much to know that he was hurting so much, and I am feeling guilty about that. I'm doing what I can to make up for it."
"No one said being Chief Cultivator and being Married is easy. Once you find a good balance, you will stick with it. I guarantee you, you both will be alright," Wei Changze told him.
Wangji nodded as Wei Ying moved back into his lap. His back was pressed against his chest and Wangji's arms were wrapped around his waist. Wuxian rested his head back on Wangji's left shoulder and turned his face into Lan Wangji's. He pressed his lips to the man's cheek before resting his head back down.
