Wei Wuxian was crying nonstop. He couldn't even breathe, he was crying so hard. Lan Zhan held onto him like his life depended on it. This was the most difficult time for Wei Wuxian and he had to relive it again. Baoshan knows it's hard on the boys to see this so she did question them if they wanted to continue to sit in the room with them as they watched.

"Can you just give us a moment?" Lan Wangji asked, "he just needs some time to calm down. If he falls asleep, it's not a big deal. I just want him to calm down first."

"Did you ever find out who ever planted the curse?" Fengmian asked trying to change the subject as they wait for the boys to calm down a bit.

"Not until way later," Lan Xichen answered, "we came to find out it was Su She. He used to be a Lan disciple, but he betrayed the clan and was kicked out of the sect for it."

"So why did he target Wei Ying?" Fengmian asked.

"Jealousy, and power," Xichen answered, "plus he had a yin hu fu, that everyone wanted so badly. Meng Yao was working with him. Wei Ying was already a target to the cultivation world, so they took that and pushed on it further."

"In other words, he and Meng Yao, they did this to him," Jiang Cheng pointed out, "the the person who played the second flute...was that Su She?"

"It had to have been, he knows how to play music and knows of the Lan sect music techniques. He used that to his advantage and targeted Wei Ying," Lan Qiren suggested.

As they discussed the ambush, Lan Wangji, Baoshan, and Wei Ying's parents were ignoring them and focusing on trying to calm Wei Ying down. Sizhui and Jingyi even sat there trying to comfort their Baba. The twins were furious about how he was set up and taken away from them. Their Baba couldn't be with them and love them, dot on them, scold them when they needed it, and be there for them.

Wei Ying eventually calmed down. Because his head was pressed against Wangji's chest, the beautiful sound of Wangji's heart beat and the soothing smell of sandalwood, it brought Wei Ying comfort. He was in his husband's arms and the situation is in the past. He tried his best to tell himself it was over and it is in the past. He tried his best to focus on one thing, and one thing alone...Lan Wangji.

Focused only on Lan Wangji, Wei Ying's breathing became steady after he had been hyperventilating for so long. His trembling body began to feel numb of feeling anything other then Lan Wangji's warmth that radiated from his body.

"Lan Zhan?" Wei Ying quietly called for his husband.

"I'm here," Lan Zhan said calmly and quietly into his ear and planted a kiss on his cheek, "I'm not going anywhere. I'm here."

"I'll be okay," Wei Ying whispered, "they can continue if they want. I may not pay much attention to it though. I'm more focused on you at the moment."

"That is fine," Lan Zhan said, "focus on me all you want."

"I..I love you, Lan Zhan," Wei Ying said very quietly.

Lan Zhan did catch his words though and whispered back to him, "and I love you, Wei Ying. Never forget that."

Wei Ying rubbing his head more into Lan Zhan's chest as a sign for comfort and closeness. Wangji placed his left hand on the back of his head and trailed his fingers through his hair. His other hand was holding him close, tightly, but making sure it wasn't too tight as he didn't want to suffocate him.

"Alright, Wei Ying has calmed down enough for us to continue...it's not going to be a pleasant viewing for a long while. So I just want you to prepare yourselves."

Everyone nodded and went back to their designated seats. Those who were crowded around Lan Zhan and Wei Ying, backed off to give them some space. Baoshan did sit on one side of Lan Zhan while Xichen sat on the other side. Xichen knows he may need to comfort his brother at some point soon, which was way he was sitting beside him and Wei Ying.
