"Considering Clan-Leader-Jiang's absence, I suppose Madam Yu could be the judge. If there is anyone shielding him in the Jiang Clan, I can assume those old rumours...." She paused, watching as the family flinched, she giggled, "Are real."

Jiang Cheng clutched his brother's wrist tighter, "What rumours?!"

Wang Lingjiao frowned, "You must know, they're nothing but some romantic affairs of Clan-Leader-Jiang."

Wei Ying's heart lit up in flames, he missed his parents so fucking much! How can anybody speak badly of them when they were such kind, fair, and lovely people!

"That's false-!" He began to yell, but the zidian swung down.

...

Several shouted out in alarm and shock, in disbelief. Sure, knowing Wei Ying was abused is one thing, but seeing it is something completely different. Plus, by Wei Ying's own shock, this was the hardest hit from the Zidian he'd ever received.

Lan Wangji felt sick to his stomach seeing his husband treated that way. Tears were now constantly flowing down his face. His heart ached and he found it extremely hard to breathe.

"Ge!" Lan Zhan sobbed.

Lan Xichen moved to sit beside Wangji who still had Wei Wuxian in his arms, "I know, I don't like it either, but I'm here."

"I feel like I'm going to throw up," he continued to sob, "help me?" He was close to hyperventilating he was so upset.

Baoshan gave Wangji something to calm his stomach and his nerves but he also wanted to remain awake. He wanted to know just exactly happened to Wei Ying.

"Mother!" Jiang Cheng yelled, "I still wish I was not held by your servants. I would have stepped in to stop you...because of you, you made Wei Wuxian defenseless from the Zidian...and you expected him to protect me!"

Madam Yu said nothing, she just sat silently.

...

Yu Ziyuan glared, "Jiang Cheng!" She shouted, her voice booming and violent, "Move aside or you'll kneel too!"

Yet, Jiang Cheng refused, his heart racing, galloping in his chest like racing steeds because he knew how much his mother valued Wei Wuxian. Which was not at all, if necessary, or, if the easy option, she would sacrifice him in a heartbeat but Jiang Cheng couldn't lose his elder brother.

Wei Ying instantly pushed his brother aside, "Jiang Cheng, stay out of this," He pleaded as he breathed heavily, eyes trained but not focused on the ground, he tried not to cry out as his skin sizzled and bled.

Jiang Cheng hesitantly stood aside and he could only watch. Madam Yu send his brother flying with the Zidian once more. Wei Ying screamed as if feeling the pain again, the pain of being humiliated, of the Zidian splitting his skin and frying the edges of his wounds.

Pain of crashing through a table and landing at rock bottom, "AHH!" Or what he thought was rock bottom at the time.

...

Lan Zhan hugged Wei Ying tighter, it was all of a sudden it was like he could feel the pain of the Zidian, not the physical pain, but the emotional scars it left behind. Lan Zhan was shaking, shaking with his anger, with Wei Ying's agony, all of it was overwhelming.

As did everyone else, not one person was left without some form of sad expression. Wei's parents was wailing, and furious. They hated that they died to leave their son to this.

Madam Yu couldn't help but narrow her eyebrows, from a different perspective, from a victim's perspective, she looked evil. Her actions here were evil. It made her feel sick to her own stomach. She shook her head and put her face into her hands. She was a monster.
