Wei Wuxian ran through Cloud Recesses to the Cold Spring where Lan Wangji was bathing from injuries he had endured from the flogging he received. Wei Wuxian hopped gleefully down the steps clutching Suibian. Lan Zhan turned to him looking at him sharply, glaring.
"Lan Zhan!" Wei Ying yelled, a gigantic smile on his face as mischief brewed.
Lan Zhan clenched his jaw, "How did you get in here?!" Lan Zhan glared, asking aggressively.
Wei Ying acted clueless and cute, pouting and looking down rolling a stone beneath his feet, "Zewu-Jun let me in..." He shrugged.
Lan Zhan sighed, 'Xiongzhang, why?' Lan Zhan questioned in his head.

"Because it was a kind gesture," Lan Xichen answered.
"I'm sure it was to help the two love birds have some more private time," Wen Ruohan stated, "I mean, it's also water..."
Lan Xichen chuckled a little.

Wei Ying somewhat looked away while Lan Zhan got dressed, still talking, "Lan Zhan, how come you never told me about a place like this?" He asked, arms crossed as he leaned against a tree, "This isn't how a good friend acts."
Lan Zhan huffed and rolled his eyes slowly, however, his eyes widened when Wei Ying kicked off his shoes and approached him, hands almost tearing apart his robes.
"What are you doing?!" He questioned, heart racing which the people observing felt quite uncomfortable to experience.
Wei Ying giggled, "Undressing so I can heal!" He cheered, once again making Lan Zhan sigh.
Wei Wuxian then remembered the wounds from Zidian and how they are yet to heal. From the flogging one of the scars reopened and he had to put fresh bandages on. He felt it best to leave his robes on. Soon the two were pulled beneath the water into an unknown place. As Lan Zhan shielded Wei Ying with his body, holding the small body close to him as they fell. Lan Zhan and Wei Ying shared the forehead ribbon, being taught about the Yin Iron by Lan Yi, and joining forces.
Later, the disciples were all busy making lanterns to set off as was a tradition in Gusu. Wuxian and Wangji sat together, Wangji mending together wires and building the frame, why Wuxian was painting a decoration on the lantern. Wangji was curious as to what he was painting, but he kept his eyes to the frame and waited until the finish product to be shown to him.
"Lan Zhan, since we are sharing life and death situations, why not set one off together," Wei Ying asked
"I'm used to being alone," Lan Zhan said.
"Habits can change, besides, I made this lantern specially for you," Wei Ying said setting the ink brush down, "Look."
Lan Zhan looked at the lantern. Something inside of him warmed his heart from seeing the rabbit that Wei Ying had painted. Seeing such a gesture caused a small smile to appear on his face.
"Hehe, you smiled," Wei Ying teased happily.

"Lan Wangji smiled for the first time for Wei Wuxian!" A girl squealed.
"Aww, such a cute gesture," Lan Xichen stated, "it's good to see my little brother smile like that.
"I'm still proud of myself to get a smile out of you," Wei Ying stated looking at Lan Zhan.
