"Well, they are two healthy baby boys," Wen Qing stated as she finished cleaning up the mess from the birth, "do you have names picked out?"
"Well, they are taking the name Lan," Wei Ying said.
"I thought of Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi," Lan Zhan told him.
"Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi?" Wei Ying questioned happily, "I love them... it's perfect... what did you tell tell your brother and uncle? Or what will you tell them?"
"I will say that I came to look at the situation at the mounds and came across two babies who were orphans?" Lan Zhan suggested.
"Will it work?" Wei Ying asked.
"It should," Lan Zhan said.
"I hate having to lie but it's to protect them from people who want to hurt me," Wei Ying said with tears forming, "I don't want to see them go, but they have to."
"I will keep them safe and keep you informed of how they are doing," Lan Zhan told him, "maybe I can sneak you into Cloud Recesses sometimes."
"Maybe... but maybe it is best if I don't exist for them," Wei Ying said, "I don't exist for a lot of people as it is."
"Wei Ying?" Lan Zhan asked.
Wei Ying handed him the twins, "please take care of them," Wei Ying said and took off into the foggy mist of the mounds.

"That was one of the most painful partings I've ever had," Wei Ying stated, "the others were Shijie and Wen Qing."
"So we are now in the world of the living," Jingyi said.
"Yes, welcome," Wei Ying said, "make some friends now."
Jingyi grumbled with a pout on his face, "I have friends!"
"Sure," Wei Ying teased.

Lan Zhan looked down at the twins. Lan Zhan hated that Wei Ying couldn't live a normal life and raise them, "Lan Wangji," Wen Qing said, "keep them healthy and safe."
Lan Zhan nodded as he hopped on Bichen and took them to Cloud Recesses. Lan Zhan wasn't expecting to take them back the same day they were born, but they needed a safe place. Not even being noticed, Lan just flew right to Jingshi and placed to twins on the bed. He ordered a disciple to get them food so he can feed them.
"Wangji, you're back," Lan Xichen, his brother, greeted and saw the twins, "why do you have babies in your home?"
"I'm adopting them," Lan Zhan informed, "it was a request from Wei Ying... their father died a little while back but the mother died recently after giving birth. Wei Ying met up with me asking if I could get them out of the mounds."
"Well, it's safer here then there," Xichen said, "I will help you with what I can...do you have names for them?"
"Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi," Lan Zhan told him.
"Nice names," Xichen said.
"Shufu?" Lan Zhan asked.
"Let me explain to him, alright," Lan Xichen suggested.
Lan Zhan nodded.
"They look like they were just recently born," Xichen pointed out.
Wangji nodded again, "they were... very late last night."
"Oh," Lan Xichen said, "are you sure you can handle them?"
"I have people to help me," Lan Zhan pointed out, "I'm sure I won't be in this alone... and I won't abandon these babies. I will treat them as my own."
"Very well," Lan Xichen said.
"That makes you an uncle you know," Wangji teased.
Xichen blinked, "that's right, it does huh," he said.
"So if they are twins, who was born first?" Lan Xichen asked, "do you know?"
"Sizhui," Lan Zhan pointed out
"Okay," Xichen said.
"Xiongzhang, I know I promised not to say anything about it to anyone but, I feel like if I tell you, you might know what to do... he won't listen to me otherwise... and his life is in danger."
"What?" Xichen asked sitting down on the bed with him beside the twins.
"A while back, it was after Baifeng mountain, Wei Ying opened up to me about somethings and I am not sure what to do now that I know."
"You promised not to speak of it, so is it worth breaking?" Xichen asked.
"If it involves his life, yes," Lan Zhan told him.
"Alright, I'm listening."
"Wei Ying told me that the reason he doesn't use his sword is because his golden core got crushed by Wen Zhuliu. I checked myself and he doesn't have a core," Lan Zhan explained, "the Yin Hu Fu, he said he was beaten and thrown into the burial mounds. His body is nothing but broken bones being glued together by resentful energy. If he destroys that amulet, he will die from a back lash of the amulet."
Lan Xichen was shocked as he took in all of this information, "are you sure? Why didn't he say so sooner?"
"He doesn't what to be mocked by the cultivation world... but now he is being shunned instead. The Wen Remnants, there are no cultivators other then Wen Qing and Wen Ning, otherwise they are all farmers, healers, elders, and women... they are not dangerous."

"You shared my secrets," Wei Ying said to Lan Zhan.
"I'm sorry," Lan Zhan replied, "it wasn't my intention, but I was trying to find a way to help you so you could get back to our boys."
"Oh," Wuxian said, "thanks for trying though."
Lan Zhan nodded and kissed his cheek.

This is the most Lan Wangji has ever spoken to Lan Xichen in one sitting. For him to tell him all of these things, it has to be true. Lan Wangji wouldn't lie to him either. Which means Wei Wuxian was innocent along with dozens of others.
"Sect Leader Lan!" A Lan disciple said running in, "we have urgent news."
"What is it?" Xichen asked.
"Wei Wuxian was invited to attend a ceremony at Lanling, but on the way he and Wen Ning were ambushed by Jin Zixun... Jin Zixuan tried to intervene but the two died. The ghost general went out of control... as of right now, Wei Wuxian has three days to turn himself in or the Jin Sect will take a siege to the Burial mounds," the disciple explained.
Wangji was now panicking. Wei Wuxian was still recovering from giving birth, he was also exhausted mentally and physically. His body is still weak.
"I need someone to watch the twins!" Lan Zhan said, "I need to get to Wei Ying!"
"I will inform Shufu and I'm sure he will look after them, please be careful," Xichen said.
