So some are going to probably asked this, I am going to mix both Mo Dao Zu Shi and The Untamed a bit together. In The Untamed, Wuxian was back in his normal body while in MDZS he was in Mo Xuanyu's. I am going with the version where Wei Ying is in his normal body, not Mo Xuanyu's.

Also I'm going with the sixteen years of mourning. If you see a typo of thirteen years I will go back and fix it soon.

Just to make a clarification for later

Wuxian was going to start explaining more about how he was feeling when he felt a sudden tug of his robes from behind him.

"What are you tugging my robes for?" Wuxian asked before a lustful smirk appeared on his face, "if you want to have sex, all you have to do is ask."

Wangji chuckled, "I would love to do that with you right now, but we were discussing some important issues. Plus I didn't tug your robes, my hands are in front of you, not behind you," after saying that, Wangji felt a tug on his robes as well, "well, you don't have to tug my robes if you don't believe me."

"I didn't do it," Wuxian told him.

A sudden gust of wind blew causing a wind of Jingshi to open up and push itself inside. It swirled around the two as it started to created a yellow glittery mist.

"What is going on?" Wuxian asked holding out Wangji tightly.

"I am not sure," He said in response wrapping his arms tightly around Wuxian to keep him safe beside him.

It was suddenly like the wind took the their energy out of them and caused them both to pass out in each other's arms. The two woke up hours later in a fairly decent size bedroom. It was cozy and clean. It almost looked as if it was set up for the two of them for when they arrived. The two carefully stood up from the bed they were on and looked around the room.

"Where are we?" Wuxian asked rubbing his head out of confusion.

"A bedroom," Wangji answered teasingly.

Wuxian glared at Wangji's obvious answer, "really?" He asked. Though he couldn't help but smile at his husband's playful comeback of an answer.

Lan Wangji chuckled, "sorry, couldn't resist," he said, "you have done that to me a couple of times. So I had to play along at some point."

Wuxian giggled, "Lan Zhan, I love you, you know that."

"And I love Wei Ying."

Wuxian smiled at him and turned to the door upon hearing a sudden knock, "come..in?" Wuxian questioned.

When he said that, the door opened to a woman in her late thirties to mid forties behind it. She was in black robes and had a red ribbon tied in her hair. Almost like Wuxian would do.

"You two are awake," the woman said, "that's good. I'm glad you two are safe from your travels."

The two nodded, "who are you?" Wuxian asked.

"Why, I'm Baoshan Sanren, my dear grandson," she answered, "I heard many things that had happened these many years and had to look back at them. I found it to be a sad and hard past for the two of you."

"You, know our past?" Wangji asked.

"I do," Baoshan answered, "and soon, everyone will know the truth of who you are. I saw that A'Ying was telling you about his hardships."

Wangji nodded, "I have been neglectful of my duties as a partner and caught up dealing with politics as the new chief cultivator. I have guilt that I could be there for Wei Ying, and not even knowing he was hurting."

"And he still is," Baoshan informed, "but do not beat yourself up. It is not your fault and you both are trying to make the best of the situation. I do hope you know when I say pain though, it isn't just the past memories."

"What does she mean by that?" Wangji asked looking at a Wuxian.

"Ugh," Wuxian scratched the back of his head trying to avoid the question but he knows the if he does, Baoshan will answer for him, "there is some physical pain that I am dealing with at the moment, but I am fine."

"Fine?" Baoshan asked and turned to Wangji, "let me see your arm," Wangji nodded and lifted an arm for her. She took it and used some spiritual energy to apply a force to his arm. It was so sudden and painful, it was almost suffocating, "now imagine this where your Dantian is for your core and put this pain there."

He tried to think about it and soon he felt it. She helped him understand what pain Wuxian was feeling. He was going through a suffocating like pain where his golden core used to be.

"Wei Ying?" Lan Zhan asked as Baoshan let him go, "why didn't you say something? We could have tried to find a why to stop the pain...how long?"

"How about since the day he transferred it," Baoshan told him.

"What?" Wangji asked.

"Because he was beaten and thrown into the burial mounds, his spiritual container for his golden core never healed properly. The scar tissue never properly healed. It's like there is water trapped inside a person's lungs. It's painful. He's been dealing with that for years. To fix this, I would have to seal his spiritual passage ways and close his spiritual container so it can heal properly. I can then eventually help instruct you how to build a new core," Baoshan explained, "if you want a new one."

"Even if I do, I no longer have my sword, Jiang Cheng has it. And I'm sure it answers more to him then for me now," Wuxian explained.

"I can reconnect the sword to you and unlink it from that ungrateful boy," Baoshan told him.

"Ungrateful?" Wuxian asked.

"She has a point you know," Wangji said, "he may have apologized but he is still holding a grudge against you. He doesn't even know how lucky he is to have a new core. You gave yours up for him and he doesn't seem to realize just exactly what you gave up."

Wuxian smirked, "he may seem ungrateful but I know he is grateful deep down," Wuxian told them, "I'm not trying to make excuses for him, I'm just saying how it is as I've known him for years."

Wangji just let it go and turned to Baoshan, "so what are we going to do? I will help any way I can."

"I just need you to keep him calm while I seal his passage ways and his spiritual container. After that, I will set a space for everyone to watch your hardships unfold," she explained.

Wangji nodded as they had Wei Ying lay down on the bed. Wangji sat there comforting Wuxian as he would always do, as Baoshan sealed his passage ways and spiritual container. Once that was done, Wuxian was basically considered a normal human being.

"How long do I have to be like this?" Wuxian asked.

"At least two months," Baoshan told him, "but I will check on you frequently. So you two are to stay here while you recover and we show the hardships. I will make sure Wangji's schedule is still cleared so he can relax."

"Thank you," Wangji told her.

"Your welcome," she said, "I will let you both rest now. It is getting late. There are fresh robes in the wardrobe there."

Wangji nodded as he and Wuxian watched her leave. The two just stripped to their under robes and laid down snuggled up to each other.
