~Back at the Burial Mounds After Lan Wangji left with the twins~
Wei Ying and Wen Ning walked through Qionghe path, talking about the invitation. Arms linked, Wen Ning smiled as Wei Ying just talked, he had so much on his mind lately that he needed to vent.
"I'm grateful to have a sworn brother like you," Wei Ying told him, "you are something unique."
Wen Ning nodding in agreement, "I hope I ca-"
Wei Ying didn't hear anything more though, only saw Wen Ning's face fall and snap in another direction. Wei Ying barely blinked before he noticed Wen Ning had caught an arrow seconds before it pierced through his skull.
Wei Ying gasped and frowned, looking around for the culprit. Once his eyes locked on a familiar, haunting face, he paled as his heart dropped, hands beginning to shake.
"A-Ning..." He whispered fearfully.
Wen Ning glared furiously at Jin Zixun, he didn't care that this man had tortured him, he cared that he had hurt his Ying-ge. Stepping in front of his brother, Wen Ning prepared to grab him and flee just in case.
Wen Ning clenched his fists, "What do you want?!" He growled, for once, fearless.
...
Wen Qing raised her eyebrows in surprise. She had never seen her brother act in such a way, but she guessed that being a fierce corpse has that affect on him.
"A'Ning?" Wen Qing questioned, "I've never seen such a side of you before."
"I wish this wasn't the part you had to see," Wen Ning said feeling ashamed.
"Remember, it's not your fault," Wei Ying told him, "I was the one who was making directions with Chenqing, when, I guess something went wrong...so it was more on me then you."
The others remained quiet as they didn't know what to say to Wei Ying to convince him otherwise when they didn't know what exactly happened.
...
Jin Zixun just tutted at him, ignoring his presence entirely, "Wei Wuxian!" He shouted, "I'm warning you, lift the evil spell on me at once! If you do that I can pretend nothing happened and we can move on in peace!"
Wei Ying raised his eyebrows in surprise, gripping the back on Wen Ning's robes tightly, "What evil spell?!" He yelled back.
Jin Zixun's anger rose, "Are you still pretending?!" He screamed, "Fine, then see for yourself!" He shouted before tearing the lapels of his robes open, revealing a chest of wounds and holes.
Wei Ying gasped, stepping back and- due to the tight grip on Wen Ning, bringing the Ghost General with him, "H-Hundred holes?" He stammered.
Jin Zixun huffed, "Exactly!"
Wei Ying sighed, unable to stop hiding behind Wen Ning, but able to put on a facade, "I am not afraid of you. The hundred holes curse was cast on you, why are you coming for me?!" He questioned, "That has nothing to do with mel"
Jin Zixun fixed his robes as the hundred archers he brought stayed still, their bows loaded with ammunition all pointed at Wei Ying, "Aside from you, who else is the master of wicked tricks?! Who else would cast a malicious spell?!" He screamed back.
Wei Ying sighed, rolling his eyes briefly, "I don't even remember who you are," He lied. He could never forget that face, not when it plaques his dreams like a virus, "Why should I bother to cast an evil spell on you? I haven't even been anywhere near you in months!" Wei Ying shook his head, crossing his arms, "Besides, I never use those insidious tricks! If I want to kill a person, I make sure the world knows it! That this man will die by my hands!" He sighed, "Plus if I really wanted to kill you you'd get an ending a thousand times more miserable than that!"
