Chapter 30 - WangXian

It was the next day after Wei Wuxian left the screening room. Baoshan felt it was fine to take the rest of that evening off before continuing. She knows there is a lot more heavy things to yet be seen.

"Alright, can we get started?" Baoshan asked and looked at Wei Ying mostly.

He nodded as he was ready as he could be. He has Lan Zhan beside him, and he was feeling a bit better after speaking with him after walking out for a while. It felt good to talk. Lan Zhan was there for him again, like he promised. He felt grateful for having a husband like Lan Wangji by his side.

"Mn," Lan Wangji woke up to see Wei Wuxian near the fire, trying to dry his clothes.

"Your awake? that's good. I think it is five in the morning."

Lan Wangji felt something on his forehead, so he reached up to touch it. He noticed that his forehead band is back on his forehead.

Wei Wuxian saw Lan Wangji reach for it, "Ah, I put it back on for you, I thought that you might be nervous without your headband on. I went back out to swim around the bottom of the pond just now. That monster is very smart, he seem to be able to detect us in no time. I want to find that hole that Jiang Cheng was talking about. I don't think we can get out now since that monster blocked that hole."

Lan Wangji couldn't believe Wei Wuxian went back into that filthy water when he is still injured, "Since you are still wounded, you shouldn't go into the water," Lan Wangji said to Wei Wuxian with an worry expression on his face.

"I'm not that weak, Lan Zhan. How about you? The medicine that Wen Ning gave to me? Is it healing well?"

"A'Xian, I have yet to thank you for helping my brother with his leg injury," Lan Xichen said to him.

"Oh, it's no problem, I would do it again in an instant," Wei Ying told him.

Lan Zhan and Lan Xichen smiled at him with sincerity. They know just how much he cares for those he loves.

"Also, please take better care of yourself," Lan Xichen stated.

"I...will try," Wei Ying said, though that was hard to say but he knows he should try...for Lan Zhan's sake.

Lan Wangji gave Wei Wuxian a nod.

"Jiang Cheng has left not so long ago, I wonder when will he arrived at with reinforcements. I am thinking that we have to stay here a little longer, or we can fight that monster to get out of here."

"What does that monster look like to you?" Lan Wangji asked.

"A turtle, a big turtle!"

"I think this is the mythical creature, with the same shape," Lan Wangji inquired.

Wei Wuxian slightly move his head to the side, "Mythical creature?" He got up, went over to seat down next to Lan Wangji, not only to talk more about this mythical creature, but because he also didn't want to speak across the cave, "Are you talking about mythical creature call Xuanwu right? Xuanwu is also called Xuanming. Is the combine of both tortoise and snake, they call this water immortal."

"That's right."

Wei Wuxian sigh, "if this mythical creature is the same as all of the other monsters then they will have a mouth that is filled with ugly teeth and they even eat humans. We can never tell between imagination or reality."
