When Wei Ying awoke three days later, he woke to his sister pampering him, dabbing his forehead and combing his hair and was hit with a sense of deja vu. But, instead of smelling salty rivers and blooming flowers, he smelt the smoke and metal of Oinghe.

Yanli smiled down at him, relief filling her bloodshot eyes, "A-Xian!" She cheered, "You're awake!"

Wei Ying grinned slightly, sitting up with aching bones, the resentful energy stirred but kept him together nonetheless. Wei Ying hates it when it does that, he hates it more when it rumbles in front of his sister as if threatening to let him go right in front of her. If that happened, she'd see him crumble into a literal sack of bones, his jaw would dislocate again, teeth would fall, face would deflate, it would be horrific. And she'd have to see it.

...

Many listening in physically drew into themselves, the image crossing their minds. Wen Qing's jaw clenched, remembering her time at the mounds and experiencing first hand, Wei Wuxian's pain and suffering.

...

"Shijie," He began, "What time is it?" He asked, wondering how many hours he'd been asleep for.

Did he miss the banquet? Hopefully not, he has a thirst for liquor, as watered down as it may be here.

Yanli's tired face twisted a little, "Xianxian... you've been asleep for three days..." She murmured, her eyes watering exposing just how worried she had been during that time.

Wei Ying's eyes widened as he drew in a sharp breath, "Three days?!" He wailed. He definitely missed the banquet.

...

Lan Xichen grinned, laughing a little, this was definitely refreshing, to hear internal banter instead of the usual misery they hear and feel, "Master-Wei, feel free to drink all the Emperors Smile you desire from now on," He chuckled lightly.

They didn't have to see Wei Ying's face to know it lit up, judging from the gasp and minor giggle that melted their hearts, this news was amazing. Grandmaster Qiren decided to be deaf to what he had just heard...plus he figured it wasn't too big of a deal to let Wei Wuxian be.

...

"What about Jiang Cheng and- and Lan Zhan?" He asked, taking his Shijie's hands as a blush spread across his pale cheeks, remembering who had caught him.

It felt nice, to be caught. Nobody ever catches him when he falls.

...

Lan Zhan's lips curved into a smile, "I'll catch you forever and if I can't do that, I'll fall with you and I'll hold your hand."

"Lan Zhan!" Wei Ying whined nudging his shoulder, "you fuddy-duddy."

"I'm your fuddy-duddy," he flirted.

"Stop flirting," Wei Ying begged and leaned in to his ear and whispered, "it will turn me on if you keep it up."

Lan Zhan gulped. He knows what will happen then...he doesn't want that to happen in front of everyone.

"Tonight then...after all, everyday means everyday," Lan Zhan whispered back.

"You've failed at that then," Wei Ying stated.

"I'll make up for it...you've been hurting, I can't do such a thing with you upset. It wouldn't be fair or nice," Lan Zhan told him.

"Do what you want later then," Wei Ying told him quietly.

"Better not be doing anything inappropriate over there," Jiang Cheng yelled at them.

"No...not yet anyway," Wei Ying teased.
