Isla's POV
...
"June!" I turned to look at my mother with Pris, calling me outside to join them
"I'm finishing up my requirements, Ma. Kayo nalang diyan."
They're currently working in the garden with our maids and, of course, the gardeners.
"Come on, June! You're just like Dad, always busy with screens and papers. Bond with us naman!" ani Pris
Come here at nagpahanda ako ng meryenda." tawag sakanila ni Daddy
"Where do you plan to take your Masters, Priscila?" tanong ng ama sa nakatatandang kapatid ko
"I haven't decided pa, Dad. Preston is still number one on my list though." she said
"What about you, June? Any plans after graduation?" he then asked me
"I'll most likely go back here in the Philippines after finishing my degree in the US. Then, I'll figure out the rest after that." I honestly answered
I will graduate and work under Revmont's construction firm kahit na ang gusto ni Dad ay sa company namin ako mag trabaho.
"I mentioned it to Yvon and Valeria, and they are more than willing to welcome you into their company." Mommy said
"Thanks, Mom, but you know you didn't have to do that. I want to earn it through hard work."
"It's okay, June. Just prove to them why having you in the team isn't a waste." sabay marahang hagod ni Mom sa likuran ko kaya natango nalang ako sakanya
Being the youngest of Inigo Junius Thomas and Gimena Victoria Del Valle's two daughters comes with grandeur and significant obligations. Parehong galing sa mayamang pamilya ang mga magulang ko and as far as I know, pragmatic marriage ang nangyari sakanila but nonetheless, we are a happy family.
That night, I was getting ready to fly back to the United States after being accepted as a transfer student at Preston University.
"Mommy!" I rushed to my mom's unconscious body on the floor
When I got a hold of her, natigil ako sa paghinga. It's as if heat had abandoned her body entirely. My entire world seemed to come to a halt at that point.
"Stay here, stay h-here...
We took my mother to the hospital, but she was declared dead on arrival. Her cause of death was cardiac arrest.
