CHAPTER 8
At the Garden...
Lord Falcon began to wake slowly from the feverish hell he was trapped in. He hadn't felt this bad since his Beloved, Ria, almost died giving birth to their daughter. That was a nightmare he had no wish to relive. A humming sound caught the vampire's attention, painfully opening his eyes, he could barely make out the form of his best friend, Lord Donavan James.
^Lord Rinan Falcon^
"Van?"
"You look like shit."
"Oh great! You and I can finally pass for twins."
Lord James snickered, "Asshole. You're going to want to clean up. Ria's on her way."
Lord Falcon gave a rare smile at the thought of his Beloved. He would be forever thankful that Lord James had introduced them. "What in the devil's ass happened anyways?"
"Reaper. Lucy saved your carcass just in time."
"Damn. I feel like just half my 'carcass' is functioning."
Lord James looked regretful. "I thought you weren't coming. I would have warned you but I couldn't be seen."
"You still in?"
"Yes."
"Well then you better get out of here."
--------------------
Counting the dead was always a grim task. They lost five pack members, Midway pack lost two, and Indigo Sky pack had lost three. It would have been a much greater number of wolves from Cub Creek and Indigo Sky if Mona hadn't told Salim about the incoming wolves.
They packs gathered for a moment of solidarity and silence before the packs began to pack up. Heads turned as the future Alpha of the Midway Pack stood arguing with the short little blonde about coming home with him.
"You're MY MATE!" Keelan roared. "I've marked you!"
"That's another damn thing! I didn't fucking give you my damn permission to mark me! You don't get to force a marking on me and then think that you somehow have the right to order me around." Alyssa screamed lividly.
"You should be grateful that I was willing to mark such a weak little wolf." Keelan huffed.
All the mated male wolves backed away from the future Luna while wondering if they should get another casket ready for the Alpha's heir. There was nothing scarier than an angry female.
"GRATEFUL?!!!" Alyssa exploded. "My Lenny..." Keelan growled at the mention of another male but was ignored. "...was a good man. He loved me, fought for me, and died for our pack. He was an Omega and that position means as much to me as an Alpha. I don't give a damn! I loved a man who was worth loving. He respected me. You are rude, inconsiderate, and haven't proved anything other than that you're an asshole. You can take your macho-ness and your little title and shove it all up your conceited ass!"
