Author's Note: In my defense, I had to do some major grocery shopping yesterday and Costco is 2 hrs from where I live. Then after putting things away, I had to go outside and string up some dead bodies in the woods for the Halloween party on Saturday. But I woke up extra early to edit this chapter and post it. Which means that there's probably a ton of errors since I haven't had any coffee yet. Extra long chapter so... Enjoy!

CHAPTER 58 (MATURE CONTENT)

Romania...

Malachi and Laken hated Jacques with a passion as he suggested that Stacey be kept isolated from them. They had completed the course as requested and they just wanted to leave this place with their Beloved. Or at least be allowed to stay in the same suite as her since she was not allowed to leave until the full year was completed.

Princess Hadassah nodded and listened to Jacques as he gave his clinical report. Her brows furrowed in thought as she considered his suggestion to keep the three apart.

"That's ridiculous!" Malachi growled out. "She's our Beloved."

"Whom you put into a coma with your carelessness." Jacques said calmly.

"What?!" Malachi and Laken burst out.

"The stress you put her under has been too much." Jacques accused. "You'll kill her before the year is out."

"Your anniversary dinner didn't go as planned." Hadassah explained. "First, de Paor tried to kill her and she was turned into a vampire. Then you two locked her out when she was simply trying to celebrate an important moment for the three of you. Anniversaries are important to many women and new vampires feel so much more anxiety than most people while at the same time their sense of human morality is dulled which makes them dangerous."

"But we were in mourning." Laken defended.

"For a dead woman." Jacques said abruptly. Even the princess looked at him in shock over his bluntness. "Don't get me wrong. Remembering a loved one is extremely important but you could have handled it differently. The stress of being the 'other woman' who is second best to a ghost will send my patient careening down a dark path. If Ms. Gene-"

"It's Lockner-Harrison, you asshole." Malachi gritted out while Jacques continued as if he were not interrupted.

"-cannot complete her training or focus on controlling her blood urges then she might not be able to leave Romania. She'll be given the standard 6-month test and the one-year test because I doubt, she'll pass the first test. If she fails the year end test, then that will place her on the chopping block. An untrained vampire with uncontrollable urges is a danger and may be executed. This is why I propose to take over her training personally. It has been quite some time since I've had a pupil and would enjoy the challenge. She'll be a lovely student."

Malachi and Laken hissed at the smug vampire.

Hadassah raised her hand with a commanding look demanding calm. "I will talk with Stacey and decide."

Cub Creek Territory...

The conference room was quiet as the occupants took in Laz's report.

"So that's thirty-three shifter packs, seventeen covens, and a large number of witches that have joined Ivory White?" Tracy asked.

"Si. [Yes.]" Laz replied.

"We will reach out to the Alphas of each pack and the Councils of each division. Though some of the various shifters do not have their own councils. If they refuse to stand down then they will be declared outlaws." Solomon Grey said on behalf of the Werewolf Council who had joined them on call. The new werewolf king, Barak, had agreed to stay behind to restore order and rebuild. In the meantime, he placed Solomon as his regent.
