CHAPTER 9
Rogue Lands...
Dameon walked into his office. It was a disaster. Eesha was dumping all his of his files on the floor.
"What the fuck is this?" he growled.
"I want to know the same thing." She snapped throwing down another stack of papers. "Nothing is filed. The cabinets are filled with junk and I have no idea what you call that chicken shit scratch," she said pointing at his "notes," "but it's not worth a damn. Get someone in here to clean this mess."
"You made the mess." He growled. "You clean it."
She hissed at him. "Fine. I'll hire you an assistant and you're paying for it."
"Great. Redhead or blonde with a nice rack."
A knife sailed past his ear into the door frame.
"Ow." He said swiping his fingers over his skin only to pull it back a see blood. "You fucking nicked me."
"And yet you still don't learn." Eesha huffed as she hit his arm with her shoulder as she shoved past him and yanked the knife from the door post.
Pack Gardens at Cub Creek...
Lucy and Mido were sitting on the swing in the gardens outside of the pack house sipping lemonade when Tracy approached them. The Protector was hesitant to talk openly to Lucy with Mido present since the two had had a rough history. In order to save his Soulmate, Mido, otherwise known as Muhammad the Wizard, made a deal with a demon, Razdor.
Lucy or Ebony Black was struck down by her sister, Ivory White, during one of the last battles before the witch queen was imprisoned. The demon, Razdor, held onto the woman's soul as Mido quickly repaired her body. The demon then used his Divine Magic to enhance the wizard's powers to merge body and soul. They were successful and Ebony Black lived. Unfortunately, Mido ended up paying dearly for this deal. He lost his Soulmate when Ebony had decided to leave him.
Razdor was an incubus that fed off of sex. He had lusted for the dark beauty but not even in her sleep could he obtain her so he waited and saw an opportunity. He made the deal with her Soulmate. In exchange for saving her life, the demon would possess Mido's body. Part of the time, Mido would be in charge and the other part Razdor would be in charge.
Razdor's appetite and selfishness overrode his host's desires and he used Mido's body to cheat with different women. Mido had no say in Razdor's actions nor could he tell his Soulmate what had happened. His Soulmate forgave him many times over but then when one of the women came looking for financial support. Ebony took one look at the woman's heavily pregnant form and left.
Mido was heartbroken and retreated into himself while Razdor had complete control. Eventually Mido reemerged and took back the reins. He and Razdor wrestled for power and came up with the agreement that they could have an equal time of action. If Mido took over for two years, then Razdor was entitled to have the same amount of time.
Mido used all of his time searching for his love and though he had been close, he could never find her. He drifted from place to place never settling. Razdor was fine with that since it meant access to new women.
Then Razdor met Angel. She was his Balm, his soulmate. Every angel had a "Given" or soulmate. Since most demons were fallen angels, they also had a soulmate called a "Balm." But as part of their punishment, they were doomed in terms of obtaining their love.
Razdor was no exception. His selfish ways eventually started a chain reaction that led to the death of his Balm and unborn child. His other three children, by Angel, were left without a mother.
Ebony, or Lucy, had taken over the role as guardian after dividing Mido's body up to distribute into three time pieces. An hourglass was given to Shade, a sundial to Shadow, and a watch to Night. Since they were triplets, the trio could have helped each other but because they had to remain separated and hidden they needed the time pieces helped enhance and focus their powers.
With his body divided, Mido's deal with the demon no longer held since he didn't have a body to possess. Afraid of being tormented in hell if he were attached to a human soul, Razdor made another deal with Mido. The demon promised to grant him a favor. Trapped in between a layer of the planes of existence, Mido was stuck until Lucy brought him back. Since then, they have been rebuilding their relationship with only minor interferences by Razdor since he was now trapped in a ring that Mido had to wear.
Mido and Lucy were now a loving couple and Tracy was afraid to bring up the Hunter's claim that Lucy had children. Lucy herself had said that she hadn't had children by Mido but that didn't mean she hadn't had children by someone else. So instead, she smiled at the couple and greeted them.
"Would you care for some lemonade?" Lucy asked politely.
"Yes please." Tracy replied.
Lucy quickly conjured up a cold pitcher of the tangy drink and a glass. Tracy took a sip.
"Wow! This is really good." Tracy said finishing the delicious beverage with still no idea of how to proceed. Then it occurred to her that she could have simply asked you speak to Lucy privately.
Lucy smiled, "You didn't come out here for lemonade. What it is?"
"May I speak to you alone?"
"You can say whatever it is in front of Mido. We are not keeping secrets from each other."
Tracy nodded in understanding. "One of the Hunters pulled me away from the fighting and gave me a message for you. He said that your daughters and granddaughter were in trouble. No one knows their identity but he is afraid that someone might find out." Tracy said hesitantly.
Mido shifted in his seat bringing the attention to him. "I know I don't have the right to feel upset or even hurt but you had children?" he asked quietly.
"Twins." Lucy replied. "But they weren't mine biologically. The woman, Lisbeth, that had come to our home heavily pregnant, I later found in a ditch giving birth. I helped her deliver your daughters then we went to another village far away and she later died when the girls were a year and a half. I raised my girls, Zuri and Zara, and taught them how to use their powers. They were immortal and Zara was gifted with Divine Magic. I haven't seen my girls in the flesh since November of 1957. I didn't know that either girl had found their Soulmate or had a child."
Mido looked remorseful. "I have brought so much sorrow to your life."
Lucy shook her head. "There is no peace in living in the past. We cannot change what has already been."
"So, what do you want to do about your kids and grandkid?" Tracy asked.
"Whatever we can." Lucy replied. "I would like to take leave and go to the Cradle of Life to see what is going on."
"The Hunter said that the Cradle of Life has been compromised and the council has been replaced or corrupted." Tracy cautioned.
"We will disguise ourselves. Being around for so long has made me resistant to a large number of uncovering spells."
===============================
Wow this chapter was so poorly written that editing has been a nightmare and it's still awful.
