CHAPTER 3

Farm Vegas...

The old dilapidated Victorian house was reminiscent of a horror movie set up. The creepy exterior did not improve within the broken walls. "Remind me of why we're breaking into the Sprite Kingdom?" Night asked his niece as the approached the last room which held a mirror that was a portal.

"It's called, 'doing a good deed that no one can know about because we'll get arrested.'" Five-year-old Skylar replied. "And we need to get back to Cub Creek before tomorrow morning because I'll need blood and I'm assuming you would like to keep yours."

"Definitely do." Night grumbled. Like his sister, Skylar was a seer and, in Night's opinion, just as irritating but he loved them anyways. His niece was also a vampire as her father was. Both of the young girl's parents were killed and now she was on a road trip with her uncle preforming a number of "good deeds" that Night could see no rhyme or reason to.

"Wait." Skylar said as Night was getting ready to step through. "When we come out on the other side. Go left immediately."

The pair entered the portal and quietly made their way around the guards. They entered a maze that separated the Sprite Kingdom from the portal. Fortunately, they had a map that Reilly had brought to Cub Creek. It was in the locked archives which Skylar had broken into. Night was concerned for his niece's criminal tendencies that he didn't display until he was in his teens.

"Where are you going? The dungeon is this way." Night asked holding up the "borrowed" map.

"Rose Garden. We're going to need Atticus."

"Wait why do we need a demon? Especially one that betrayed the sprite queen by lying that he was her 'Other Half?' Which has to be awkward since the queen's true Other Half summoned him and now, he's stuck with them."

Skylar looked annoyed. "Look, I know the author is trying to remind everyone who everybody is but right now we're supposed to be quiet. She didn't have to be a seer to see that having ungodly number of characters was a bad idea."
