CHAPTER 46
Sofia, Bolivia...
The jarring boom of the speakers blasting loud trap music, made the vampires grit their teeth. Even with earplugs the noise still violently beat on their sensitive eardrums as they moved through the tumultuous crowd of mostly humans. Hadassah's nose wrinkled in disgust, the scent of bodily fluids, drugs, alcohol, and sweat filled the putrid air overwhelming the senses.
No sane vampire would be caught dead out here. The filth and ruckus would discourage even the most stalworth of their kind. The collective headache was building.
"We need to find him fast and get out of here before we go deaf." Zana said through the link to his Eternal One. Hadassah nodded and looked for the man with an insignia tattoo on his right arm. Their source had drawn a sketch of the unique tattoo. Soren Petrov was human and was said to be around 6'5" tall. Once they found their target, the source would confirm it then they would kidnap Soren and send him to Cub Creek.
The disc jockey's voice came over the music. "Everyone having a good time?!"
The crowd wooed and screamed.
"I'm DJ Light and I'm going on break but the fun is going to keep coming. Everyone welcome... DJ LAZ!"
A man with a shock of dyed red hair, appeared on stage behind the sound equipment. The music switched to something dark and sensuous. The bass rumbled vibrating all the glass in the area. While still the volume was still blasting, it wasn't as deafening as before. The vampires were able to relax a bit without the sound piercing their brain.
The lights were constantly moving and the flashing strobes were going at a dizzying rate. Hadassah wanted to close her eyes to block out the irritating brightest but they were looking for someone and the sooner they found him the better.
Looking towards the stage, Hadassah saw the DJ ramping up the crowd. His movements were fluid and fascinating. Gold eyes met hers and held them captive. The vampire princess stood mesmerized. The DJ broke their stare as he moved to work the turntables. Hadassah then noticed his arm that stood out against the sleeveless gold vest he wore. It was the symbol that matched the drawing.
Pulling out her cell yes snapped a picture and immediately received the confirmation from their source that this was the man they were looking for. Quickly calling out over the mind link. All the vampires gathered close to the stage to wait for the DJ to finish his shift. They planned to grab him when he went on break so that it wouldn't cause a stir. Two hours later, another DJ was introduced and the man walked up to Hadassah.
"Follow me." He said, his extremely deep voice carried over the deafening music.
Hadassah, Zana, and their guards follow the man backstage. A human male dressed in a dark casual suit with skin the color of night and familiar golden eyes stopped them.
"Hey Laz." He greeted eyeing the man's guest, "You good?"
"Yeah." The DJ said meeting the man's gaze. "Call the others."
The vampires followed their human quarry with a sense of unease. They didn't know where they were being taken or what to expect. The DJ opened a black painted door and the lights turned on automatically.
The room was painted gold trimmed with black. Red leather couches were arranged to face a platform with several chairs on top. The DJ sat in the middle chair and then waved his hand to invite them to sit.
"In a short while, my friends will be joining us but don't be alarmed. No one wants to fight or cause problems." The man said his eyes rested on Hadassah. "Please have a seat, Princess. Would you care for anything to drink?"
