CHAPTER 16

Cub Creek Territory...

The room was silent as Tracy re-read the letter. Before she died, Shadow had left several letters. This one was to be read after the Vampire Ball. It simply stated that the Plan created long ago after Ivory White was imprisoned, was to be put into effect immediately. The Plan was a fail-safe for humans in case there was a worldwide supernatural war to break loose. King Athens of the Dark Fairies, being the last of his kind, had task of keeping the Plan safe.

King Athens spoke, "I can engage the Plan as soon as-"

"No." Tracy interrupted. "Surely, we can keep this under wraps. To put all humans including our daughter under a sleeping spell for a year is far too dangerous and risky."

"What do you think young seer?" King Athens asked.

Skylar's voice came through on the conference call. "The Protector will decide. However, there are risks no matter which way is taken and there are no easy paths. The humans will know that the supernatural world does exist. It's just a matter of deciding if it will be now or later."

Outside of the Red Moon Territory...

Alpha Colin Winters stood next to his son, Rune, as Thomas Pullman explained the layout of the land and pack house. Colin was determined that this was his mess to clean up since he should have put more of an effort into finding Brice and keeping track of him. Tracy and the others understood. They agreed to let him come on his own with his warriors and a few extras from Cub Creek. As it was a "rogue problem" as well. Tracy had contacted Dameon Wilde who decided to help put out the hostile take over and get the mercenary rogues back in line. Those who disobeyed would be executed.

"We can get in through the west side since there's a blind spot. Sherry made sure to cover the area knowing it was a weakness but from what I saw, the rogues aren't that observant. No offense." Thomas said looking at Dameon.

"These aren't my men and even if they were, you're stating a fact. Why would I be offended?" Dameon asked.

"How many are there?" Colin asked.

"Seventy-five approximately." Thomas said frustrated. "Their witch was placing wards and knocking our troops out with magic. We should have spread out but it was happening so fast that everyone became disoriented in the fray."

"Good to know." Dameon said. Looking at his fellow Alpha, he said, "Are you familiar with Rogue Mercenaries?"

"I've never dealt with them before." Colin replied.

"They don't fight like normal rogues. They're well trained and ruthless. But they follow the code of, 'Live today, die tomorrow.' They'll turn tail on a dime if the odds begin to stack against them or if you have the money to buy them."

In a rare show of respect, Alpha Winters said, "I'll leave the option to you."

"Well." Dameon said with surprise. "We better start stacking then cause I left my checkbook at home."

Rogue Lands...

Luke helped Ms. Shelby drag another canister of pure acid off the elevator. He tried not to think of the "baths" she prepared for the rapists who were recently departed from this life. Afterwards, he sent the encrypted video loaded onto a small private tablet that would be hand delivered to Councilman Solomon Grey. As promised by Dameon, justice for Maria (Dameon's half-sister and Solomon's mate) had been served.
