CHAPTER 35
HELL...
Night had had enough of this place. They got what they needed and now was time to go. It was too much and the mental scars would be with him forever. Vastator was more than willing and relieved to leave this place. They passed through the gates of hell and entered the Inter Spatium or the "Between Space." Some call it "Purgatory." A place void of everything yet contained so much. Disk like floaters were everywhere. Yet somehow remained unseen.
When you stepped on a circular platform, you see a bluish green grass that looked like nothing on earth. There was a dirt mound covered in grass with a wood door but no windows. Within dwelled the souls that were waiting for rebirth. When you look out beyond the disk all you see is darkness. The blackest of black not even hell had something so pure. The atmosphere feels alive yet and unwelcoming to the living but not evil. It simply watches and maintains order. The darkness however glared upon them.
"You don't belong here yet."
A voice whispered in Night's mind.
"LEAVE!"
Two huge dogs came rushing towards them. One was a grey English bulldog that stood over six feet tall and barked aggressively. The other was an eight-foot-tall tan and white boxer that was racing towards Night.
"I'll see you when you wake." Vastator said before disappearing.
The boxer knocked Night down. There was no pain when animal's massive jaws clamped down on his arm and shoulder and began to drag him away. He awoke suddenly and fought with the odd tugging sensation. Night stopped when he realized that he was trying fight against an imaginary hold.
His first thought was that that must be why people like dogs. They protected the Spatium Inter. People feel the connection to the place where they waited to be reborn.
Shaking his head, Night stood. A sudden thought occurred to him. He had seen someone in the darkness floating above the disk as if trapped where they didn't belong yet they weren't sent away like he had been.
Closing his eyes, he focused on the person and quickly made out their features.
Landon.

Victorian House, Farm Vegas...
Most of the demons did not want to stay in the Sprite kingdom and their presence made everyone nervous. So, most opted to fix up the old Victorian house that contained the main portal to the Fairy Kind's Realm.
Interitus shook his head. As a former Angel of Death, Night thought he would be the best person to ask.
"He's not dead but he's not quite living either." he said. "He's either on the brink of death or in a coma."
"I called Jessie. She said that he was in a coma but I didn't get any details. How do I get him out of there?"
"In cases like these, it's most likely that the body will simply shut down and die. A body cannot survive without the spirit. If he remains there then your friend will die. Unless someone with the divine powers can capture the spirit, hold it until the body heals, and then preform a resurrection."
"Can you do it?"
"No." Interitus flipped the dreads from in front of his face. "I only know of one demon who has successfully captured and re-bonded a soul to a body."
"Who?"
"Razdor."
Night took in a sharp breath. During his time in Cub Creek, he had made many friends. Landon being one of them and Landon's mate Jessie, was his mate's best friend. The thought of Asya filled him with longing. He missed her terribly.
Looks like he was heading back to Cub Creek. The place where his heart lay and his father kept a certain ring that he needed to steal.

Cub Creek Territory...
Jessie sat on the hard yet comfortable rocker next to Landon's bed. Her wolf had finally tuckered herself out and had curled up in a ball in Jessie's mind weeping for her mate. Despite everything that has happened, her mind traveled back to all the good time that they had shared.
The was no lie in his eyes when he would tell her that he loved her. His arms would always hold her tight. He always held his head high with pride whenever they went out. What changed? She wondered. Why did he go to her?
Asya's scent grew as did the smell of coffee. "Hey, I brought you some decaf."
Jessie smiled. While it really wasn't necessary for a werewolf to cut back on caffeine during pregnancy but she was always careful and took extra precautions. She loved having coffee with lots of cream and very little sugar in the morning. Landon used to jokingly tell the waiter or cashier whenever they went out that his mate would like a cup of hot cream with a couple packets of coffee on the side.
Tears filled her eyes as she thought of her mate. Jessie wondered how long it would be before it didn't hurt so much to think about him. Asya gave her a hug and told her not to worry about morning patrol. Nadine, the rogue who had rescued Carrie, would be making the rounds with Asya. Nadine like to play pranks on the pack security so Asya was going along as supervisor.
Reilly came into the room a moment later after Asya left. If it wasn't for him, Cub Creek wouldn't have two Gammas anymore. After leaving the room, Reilly waited outside. He heard Landon moving around and the bathroom door close. The scent of fresh blood sent him in a panic. He immediately broke the door and hauled Landon to the pack clinic.
Without his intervention, Landon would have died. As much as Jessie wanted to hate him, she simply couldn't and felt guilty for her harsh words. Her wolf wouldn't allow her to be separated from him and pleaded with her to forgive him. Jessie remained silent and stubbornly refused to give into the need.
The door opened again and like a bag of flies, the blonde half-genie swarmed unwantedly into the room.
"What is SHE doing here with my espoused husband?" Kamda asked miffed.
Jessie's wolf shot up in rage and leaped at the blonde. Rather than ripping her enemy to shreds, Jessie was suspended in the air encased in a warm blue glow. "Kamda you will keep your mouth shut and not cause problems." The Master Genie said sternly as he waved his hand and gently set Jessie back down on her feet.
Kamda huffed but walked over to the bed and sat next to Landon.
Jessie's wolf snarled at the closeness. "Leave." She growled.
"No." Kamda said smugly. "I have EVERY right to be here. I'm sure my darling Landon would want to spend time OUR child and I know he loves my company." She taunted.
Reilly wrapped his arms around Jessie to keep her from killing the other woman. "We will be back in an hour or two. I trust that you will both be gone by then." He said firmly before leading his friend away.

See, I knew the whole hell thing would be useful. I had actually written this chapter after I posted the part were Landon suicide thing. Thanks NayNayR80 for giving me the idea even though you had no idea what I was talking about.
