"What are you saying?!" Astrid almost jump at Speros when he delivered the news to his two friends.
After the Knights meeting about what happened to Klaus, Speros immediately requested to visit Astrid and Leif to their cell to deliver the news to them.
"The information came from Klaus, and you know that he's now heading the operation for that" Speros stayed calm even though he can feel his two companion doesn't feel the same.
"What if he's lying?" Leif asks.
"How? He was shot by a gun that is meant for Granzreich! And you know how hard to have that weapon even for us Knights" Speros said to his in denial friends.
"And what did you do?" Tanong ni Astrid kaya tinaasan siya ng kilay ni Speros. "What do you mean?" Pabalik na tanong ni Speros.
"What did you do while we're lock up here? You also pledge your life to the Empress" Habang nagtatalo ang dalawa, tahimik lang si Leif na nagi-isip.
"Astrid, I will not let you questioned my loyalty for her" Halata sa mukha ni Speros ang pagkainis sa inaasal ni Astrid.
"But it is questionable! Among the three of us here, you are the least likely to pledge to her. I noticed something off about it in the first place" Napatayo si Speros sa kaniyang upuan at nilapit ang mukha kay Astrid.
"And yet when the Empress asked for help, who did she ask for?" Hindi naman makasagot si Astrid sa sinabi ni Speros. Totoo naman na si Speros ang unang nilapitan ni Xyrill ng tulong tungkol kay Kadmos.
"I'm here because I was concerned for the two of you. And because before you are Knights to her, you are her friends. And this is what I get?" Speros crossed his arms and went back to his sit.
Pero kahit nagkakasigawan sila ngayon, hindi niya pa rin maiwasan ang intindihan ang dalawa niyang kasama. They just found out that their friend is dead. Samu't-saring emosyong ang nara-ramdaman nila ngayon.
They failed her. As a Knight and as a friend.
A long silence filed the room, wala ng gustong mag salita. Parang lahat silang tatlo ay pino-process pa rin ang mga nangyari.
"You said that Klaus was shot right?" Leif asked Speros out of nowhere. He looks at him.
"Klaus said that the Empress is not alone, she's with someone but he didn't got a chance to look at their face before he got shot in the shoulder" Speros sigh before continuing. "The Emperor is assuming that Prince Asher gave them that gun, because it is impossible for them to get it here"
Doon na napaangat ang ulo ni Leif habang nanlalaki ang mata. "Did Klaus said more about who he shot?" Kumunot ang noo ni Speros.
"Are you not listening Leif? Xyrill was just killed by Klaus! Your friend!" Speros frustratingly shouted.
"I know but who..." Hindi natuloy ang sasabihin ni Leif at napatingin kay Astrid na mukhang nakuha rin ang tinutukoy niya.
But it doesn't make it better. Hindi nila alam ang mara-ramdaman sa nangyayari, hindi nila alam kung sino sa dalawa ang tinutukoy na nabaril ni Klaus at kung sino ang nabaril.
Hindi na nakayanan ni Astrid at hindi niya napansin na naluha na lang siya sa kaniyang kinau-upuan. She covered her mouth in shock.
Mixed emotions, if Klaus said is true, it wouldn't change the fact that he killed Xyrill. The only thing is that they don't know who's Xyrill he killed. While Leif just stared down at the floor.
