Wrench-Compromise

"I think we should do it my way, it's more careful and there's less chance of shit going sideways" I say to the group.

"I agree, her way gives us a better advantage" Josh draws out from across the room, sitting at his desk.

"See! My way works!" I determinedly say, looking at Wrench in particular.

"Yeah, but my way's quicker and faster" Wrench begins to sternly tell me, planting his hand on the table in the centre of the hackerspace.

"Wrench is right, it is faster and we could be in and out before they realise" Marcus agrees, patting Wrench on the back.

I stand straighter and cross my arms, getting agitated about this stupid plan.
"Well even if your way is quicker or whatever, my idea still covers the exit and getaway".

"Okay, yes, fine your idea does have a better exit strategy, but my plan has a better in" Wrench sighs angrily. I can tell he doesn't like being told what to do.

I get just as defensive, and plant my hands on the table too, staring right info Wrench's 'eyes'.

As we stand there staring at each other for a few angry moments, Sitara huffs and comes striding over from her latest spray painting project.

"Have either of you two ever heard of a compromise?" She says, looking at us both as if she's our mother.

"No, what does it mean?" I sarcastically answer at the same time Wrench answers "Nope, never".

Marcus and Sitara both smile and look at each other, before laughing. I roll my eyes before my frown leaves me face and I can't help but to smile with them. I hesitantly look at Wrench and see he's gone back to the usual X_X rather than the !_! his mask had.

"Okay fine, what if we go with your 'in' and my exit" I sigh, knowing that together we've just made the perfect plan.

Wrench 'hmms' for a second before nodding.

"Seriously though, when are you guys just going to get all that tension out of the way" Marcus asks winking.

Both me and Wrench immediately start with numerous swear words directed at Marcus as he walks away.

I guess compromise is a word I'm going to have to learn from now on...
