"You know, as much as I love hanging out here, I think you should add more life to the place" I say to Wrench as I walk around the garage, tidying up his mess.

"Sshh don't let Junior hear you say that, the little guy might get upset" Wrench jokes, patting his robot on the 'head'.

"Aww, I think even Junior agrees with with me, I mean haven't you ever seen Wall-E? Even the robot befriends a plant" I smile at him, tilting my head waiting for an answer.

"Touchè my lady" Wrench exaggerates, bowing in front of me. I roll my eyes and laugh before grabbing my satchel and walking to the exit.

"Where are you dashing off to?" Wrench asks. "Didn't we just establish the fact that you need more life?" I joke.

"Excuse me?!" Wrench exaggerates, feigning hurt. "Okay sure, whatever, go off and become Poison Ivy, but expect lots of kisses if you happen to go to the dark side, I have a weakness for cold hearted ladies" He laughs.

I salute him and make my way to a garden store.

--An Hour Later--

I come back to the garage and see Wrench tinkering around with a car, so I leave him to it and begin planting some herbs in some cute pots.

"Are any of them drugs" Wrench's robotic voice whispers in my hear, I jump and put my hand to my chest.

"First of all, Jesus! Secondly, no. They're herbs" I say, proud of my knowledge of gardening.

"But some herbs you can smoke, right?" He says in a hopeful voice.

"Well these herbs aren't for smoking, they're for cooking" I say, standing up and dusting compost off of my hands.

"I'm not really a 'cooking' sort of person, unless you count microwave noodles as cooking, then I'm like Gordon fucking Ramsey" Wrench says,

"I guess?" I say confused. "Look, all you gotta do is water them everyday and make sure they get sun, they're hard to kill, especially the mint" I say looking at the plants then at Wrench, who is being strangely quiet.

"I take no responsibility for their lives" Wrench says, backing away.

"Wrench! They're plants not babies, chill out. I'll even help look after them, plus don't they look so cute!" I cheerfully say.

"Cute isn't really my aesthetic, unless we're talking about my ass" Wrench mumbles, going back to working on the car.

I go and sit on the stool next to him, putting my arms on my knees and leaning my head on my hands.

"Pleease just try to like them, just a teeny weency bit" I plead, giving him puppy dog eyes.

"Fine, but you've got to come over and cook the herbs or whatever" Wrench says.

"Okay!" I say excitedly.

"How do you know so much about gardening anyway?" He inquires.

"My parents used to teach me things in our garden since I was little, I loved planting things and having little succulents and things in my room. I'll have to show you my herb garden some time" I say, sighing happily.

Wrench looks at me for a few moments before making a "huh" noise and going back to working.

For the next few days I teach Wrench how to care for the plants and how much to water them, and we start visiting more garden shops together. I think he does it for my benefit but it's cute seeing him actually get excited when new shoots start to grow. He acts like a toddler and always shows me as soon as I come in, or sending me pictures of them.
